so far i have no problem backing up my games but latley ive seen games that are protected by some sort of code and such. so far ive tried "Street Fighter Alpha Anthology" "Final Fight Streetwise" and of course "God of war" if there is anybody that knows how to copy these games please let me know. Also if anybody knows anymore games that cannot be copied post them here so others will know of this problem...

OK, I've got a puzzler for you guys.. got a game that's 4.37Gb and it works fine with swap magic 3.6 on a straight copy.. which is a good thing as it doesn't have dummy files etc that you could take out at rebuild.
But generally I agree that most times they would need a rebuild.

How weird is this:

swap magic Size: 4,675,043,328 bytes
dark chronicle Size: 4,692,901,888 bytes

yet it still boots perfectly.

It may well boot perfectly, but as soon as the game needs to read anything on the disc that's past SM's 4,675,043,328 bytes limit, the game will freeze.

I wish I had the TOC refresh feature....BTW, i just rebuilt Ftreet Fighter Alpha with Gnie's Expert Tool, and it was downsized to 1.87 gigs, not bad for pushing 4 buttons:)

Not if you have your set up Steimy. Only if you have swap magic or have to convert from PAL to NTSC.

Man, Steimy. How do you have time to do anything else with that bad gear!

I was able to back up the games that you have listed.

I've also had the same experience that paddymail had (game larger than SM), and went through the entire game, without it freezing or needing a TOC refresh.

toc stands for table of contents, aka the size of the image
swapmagic disk's cannot handle/load games that have a higher size image than the boot disk itself,so you load in an original game with a higher size of image than the swapmagic disk
this allows you to play games with a large image size, thus the need for rebuilding is not required
most people rebuild there games to overcome this tho

you would need to do a TOC refresh on games like fifa street for example.unless you use the patch that is required.
thats why people rely on gnie/sonix to make these tools/patches so we can rebuild these games, games that cant be rebuilt in the normal way due to the lba protection on them

Dont get me wrong, with these games i can back them up just fine But the games wont go online.I did the Alcohol 120% v1.9.5.3 image creation, then the windip patching, then the alcohol burning, and the games freeze when its tring to connect. I have had no problems so far with my other online games what is it with these particular games? is there somthing im missing or are these...GAMES THAT CANNOT BE COPIED??

I tried to backup Manhunt, the NTSC version. It's TOC is 4.37 GB. It works without rebuilding with SM 3.6 all the way through. I rebuilt it, and it didn't work. I can't remember exactly how big the rebuilt file was but it was around 2 GB. That's the only game I've ever had a problem with so far..

As for this

I had a little problem with WinDip 1.7 on these two games also. Try patching the DNAS with the Image patcher that ps2nfo has. Alot of steps compared to windip but it worked.

I've never had a problem with MK Deception... As for HDLoader, it works fine in mode3. I've even burned a backup of the game and it works without any glitches.

I went over to PS2info.com and the only image patcher I could find was the "ToxicDualLayerPatcher-v1.0.zip" i dont think this is the one u were talking about because it seems to be a patcher dedicated only to dual-layer disc patches. if this isnt the right one please post a link to wherever i can find the right image patcher to play the other games.
