I have backed up Kingdom Hearts 2 but the load times between scenes and even booting up. Is there a way to fix this?

loading time seems to be average for me - it's definitely not as long as what people have reported. Try using good media, and also what I do is I play the game on HDD until I get to the gummi ship stage where I have to switch back to using DVD, and then I'd use HDD again to play it

I appreciate your help, and a I am using TY media from supermedia.com. It just seems to be this one game that loads forever.
I would love to use a USB harddrive but don't know where to start.

I'd suggest you stay away from USBAdvance, it SUCKS, since you have a V13 you could consider investing in HD Combo (http://www.hdcombo.com/) it'll be around $100 (hardware+installation) but I love mine, great speed and compatibility, and hopefully KH2 will be fully compatible soon...
For now though, you are stuck with TY unfortunatelyi

lol, I use the computer a lot for work reasons, so I know when a thread's been updated, and we all know it's much more fun to come to AD forum than working ;)

Oddly enough i burned kh2 with a 16x tdk and it is the only game I have that is definitly perfect. No skips or freezes or long loading times. It is kind of weird.

I burned this game at 4x on a Taiyo Yuden DVDR and its always a miss or make to load. I burned 3 other games and they work fast but this game takes longer to load. But once it loads it plays smooth as margarine.

I have learned to live with the loading times but it seems that every now and then it says READ DISC ERROR.

That's a sign of laser dying or bad media... but doesn't look like either is your problem, maybe just that particular one is a bad burn..?

Yeah hopefully a bad burn because its a new PS2 dms4 pro and laser fix............Maybe the other bad media but doubtful..........

i find this to be odd since my tdk+r 16 played kh2 well. its th eronly game that wa sperfec ton that crappy brand. load time normal. game normal. only perfect gamme with tdk. I just assume it was the mighty power in the programming of squaresoft. (im not calling them their new name)

I also tried to play a backed up Kingdom Hearts 2. But it won't load. (DVD is spinning) I waited like 5-10 min. Is this long enough? I tried to play it with a HDD and a TDK DVD+R 16x. But burned it on 2.4x speed. I am using Swap Magic on a PAL version. Does someone got the same problem?

i have one of the newer ps2s. i got it this august. since my old one was broke. maybe that has somehting to do with it?

I also got a new one (PSTWO slim) and got it in july-august. But I read something somewhere else. That you can't burn KH2 by "burn image", that you have to burn it with "copy DVD". So you have to have a virtual DVD player where you can put the image in. Is this right? Did you burned KH2 like this? And did it worked?

Tried using the program, but in the end it doesn't verify. It spit my DVD out and it's waiting for the disk. So I put the DVD back and when it want to verify, it gives an error =( Tried it two times and both times were the same.

try using a better media (e.g. Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Sony DVD-R 8x etc) and burn at half the rated speed (i.e. 4x) and see if that gives you a better burn

I download most of mines because i dont feel like making it myself. When i download them they usually are better than what I myself can do. and the kh2 copy to download is amazing. I didnt even attempt my own. and note im using swap magic

A lot of games it's a matter of ripping the game and then burning it, and no special process is needed, so it should be just as easy to rip your own copy and burn it rather than spending the time to download it... :)

Yes, I know. But I am sick of waiting KH2 to release in Europe. Stupid multi languages =P
BTW i am using TDK DVD+R, is this good enough?
