I have recently bought a new laser and installed it in my ps2. Now the problem is my swap magic is quite old and it has some scratches but it will load but very slow . Is this because i need to recalibrate my laser or is it just the swap magic (also my backups are going slow loading) now i have my ps2 opened right now and i can see the laser (red light) coming out of the drive and it's on the one position. it stays there for a while and when i succefully load a backup the light goes out. I don't know exactly what the problem is here but can somebody help me solve this? is it my swap magic or laser calibration?

If you've just fitted a new laser to an old system, then, yes, you will need to do some adjustments to it for the laser to function properly in your system.

BTW: You should of just bought a 2nd hand PS2, they're almost the same cost as a new laser.
