I can't get it to work by swapping it. It looks like there is a dummy file about 1 gig big so it was putting me over my TOC limit but I deleted the file and that won't work either. Has anyone copied it yet?

I'm using the same media that I always use and usually works. The game says it's only 4.08g but it's really 4.38g. and I don't have a disc that big. Namco did this to prevent burning.

Just because a media used to work, doesnt mean it still does. They may of changed the dye used, and your PS2 doesnt like it.
What brand is it?
Apart from that, if you're using a swap method, then the game will need rebuilt if its over 4.35Gb, but you don't just delete the dummy file, you need to replace it with a 0 byte file of the same name.
Are you sure it's a dummy file you've deleted? What's the dummy file called? The EXACT name & extension?

Always 1st with 100% working PS2 Online Game DNA$ IDs!!

I know it's not the media, I'm using the same stack of Sony disc and they all work but this. It must be the size even though it says it's 4.08g, it's not. How do I make a blank file, what type are they? PAD_0.DAT is the dummy file, it's exactly 1g. How do I replace it?

Does it have to be a DAT file? If so how do I make one?

The US Ver is only 2GB you must be using the British ver of the Soul Calibur 3
Usually to replace a dummy file you just make a blank file with NOTEPAD and save other the orginal file and continue rebuilding the iso

Ok I have the ISO and MDS file, do I need the MDS file? Because once I use ISObuster and rebuild the files I make the into an ISO while burning it with Nero, when do I use the MDS? And what do I rename the text file? When I look at the dummy file by opening the ISO with ISObuster it says, PAT_0.DAT but when I put them into a folder it says PAD_0 as the file name, which do I use?

You don't need the MDS file and you need to save the file as PAT_0.DAT.. Same as the original just over write it... Then create the ISO and Burn it with DVD Decrypter or IMG Burn

I just did it and burned it with Nero as ISO/UND DVD like this guide I read said to. I put all the files in order but it doesn't boot. If I use DVD Decrypter how do I make my folder into an ISO? The only way I know to creat and ISO is with Nero and thats by burning it with Nero.

Can someone post a pic of Soul Calibur 3's files with ISObuster? I have 2 different ISO's through Bit Torrent and they are in different order but neither will boot.

The US Version I bought is not 2GB. I don't know where you got that from. As for the isobuster pic, here ya go.

As for rebuilding it, I didn't have to. Everything works. Straight 1:1 backup with a slimline ps2 and SM 3.6

I use Sony DVD+R 8 or 16x and always burn at half the rated speed. Never had a problem yet.
