Hi all you geniuses I hope one of you can help please.

I can run lots of older ISO's via UMD Emulator and Grand Theft Auto with UMD and MPH Game Loader no problem so got my head around all that!

But I don't seem to be able to run either Tombraider Legends (with fix), Fight Night and Pursuit Force (got first screen then blank) in Devhook 0.41d Launcher. When I try these I get a blank screen and then psp switches itself off.

Here is what I am doing

I go to run firmware updater and it says:

ERROR: Can't find DATA.PSAR in top folder of memory stick or UMD with updater

when I run the firmware installer without a UMD in.

So I assume it needs a UMD so put in Untold Legends Brotherhood UMD press O to start and get scrolling type updating etc etc

says all done with this text at end

211 saved, 0 decrypted, 0 errors
(0x0 bytes left over at end of file)
ms0:/dh/150/flas0/kd/loadexec.prx::p 0decrypted : : expanded:saved
ms0:/dh/150/loadexec.dec : :p 3380decrypted : : expanded:saved

firmware Ver. '1.50' is installed

push 'o' to copy registry from flash1

so press 'o' then . . . I get this

flash1:/registry/system.ireg:can't create ms0: /dh/150/flash1/registery/system.ireg
flash1:/registry/system.dreg:can't create ms0: /dh/150/flash1/registery/system.dreg

Does the above mean a problem, is this why I can't load ISO with all the correct settings (have looked thorugh all threads and know the settings to use etc with DevHook firmware version and 333mhz etcx etc).

Am I using an old UMD which won't let me play more modern games?

I would have thought at least one of the more recnt ISO's would work if not all!!

Can someone out there please explain - it's been dirving me crazy for days!!!

Many thanks

Buddah

Download a full version of devhook with the 2.00 and 2.50 firmwares already installed, then you won't have to mess around with ther firmware installer.

The link isn't working at the mo - I have the full dh folder on my memory stick which looks like this:

dh (folder containing)
kd
250
200
150F
150

and they have prx files in

is this the full devhook??

Cheers and thanks for all your help so far

Looks like the full version to me mate so you don't need to install the firmware installer. Just put the dh folder on the root of your memory stick and the DEVHOOK and DEVHOOK% folders in the PSP/GAME folder, then you should be good to go.

EDIT- Yes you will be able to use the web browser, just hit home when in a game to go back to the psp menu and it will be on there

No you don't run the firmware installer first. Just open the launcher.

Have tried every which way but loose and tombraider with fix, fight night and pursuit force ISO's just don't want to work.

Cheers - strange that won't work though and unsure about this error message - you ever had it and do you get web browser in menu?

You only get the web browser when you launch devhook with the 2.50 settings then return to the main menu. Seriously mate, as long as you have the full version of devhook, which it looks like you have, then just ignore the firmware installer, you don't need to use it.

Have found an older version at that size 0.41a

with these instructions:

***Installation of DevHook 0.41a with WiFi at 333mhz Made Easy. By Arbyman***

Copy Devhook 0.41a folders to your memory stick so you have:

Drive letter [Root of your mem stick]
-dh
-PSP
--Game
---DEVHOOK
---DEVHOOK%
---dh_inst
---dh_inst%

Copy the Data.psar from Firmware 2.00 folder to the root of your memory stick.

Then on your PSP (Make sure there is no UMD in the drive) go to your psp game menu and load the DEVHOOK FIRMWARE INSTALLER
it will detect the 2.00 data and extract it into the right place for you.

Now copy the Data.psar from Firmware 2.50 folder to the root of your memory stick. (Overwrite the 2.00 data.psar)

Back on your PSP (Make sure there is no UMD in the drive) go to your psp game menu and load the DEVHOOK FIRMWARE INSTALLER
it will detect the 2.50 data and extract it into the right place for you.

Once these are both installed go ahead and run DEVHOOK 0.41 with these settings:

UMD-MODE = UMD DISK
UMD VERSION = 2.xx -> 2.00
FIRMWARE = 2.50+2.00
CPU CLOCK= 333 (this version supports WiFi at 333mhz)
BOOT SELECT= reboot XMB

Then press start and it will load a 2.50 firmware just like a brand new PSP! Make sure your change your nickname in PSP settings!

Please Remember its an emulator! You are not really running PSP 2.50 firmware.
You can't quit your PSP on emulation firmware by pressing the Home button. You will still be in 2.50 Emulation mode.
You have to push and hold the power button for 5 seconds to get back to 1.50.

Also remember, to run a ISO in DevHook, you must start out in the 1.50 firmware as it won't load in the emulation 2.50
and to have a UMD disc in the drive after the system is booted into 2.50. The UMD will show the ISO you want to play.

Does this sound good

legend, stop giving out false info.....uve done it in like 3-4 threads no. That bs that you need unotuched iso's on devhook, the majority need patches or swaps. Contribute if you want, but dont tell people bad info.

EDIT - Damo, you really know tyour stuff:) Im coming to you from now on lol
