Hi
Here is the problem:
http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd_rebuilder_tutorial_ad...
First: I am stuck with the step "Using RB-Opt" I simply cant find the rebuilder.inf. I have the dvd which i have ripped from the source on my harddrive, i have shrunk menus to save size and used vobblanker to blank out some of the extras. so im all set. however when opening rb-opt and looking for the rebuilder.inf file i cant find it no where and have no idea how to generate it to begin the next step with dvd-rb

Hi :)
Are you using the free version of rebuilder and did you use the installer version?
To find rebuilders ini file right click on the rebuilder desktop shortcut choose properties then find target the ini file is called rebuilder configuration settings just double click on it to open it.
EDIT: You said you shrunk the menus how did you do this, and why do you need to goto the ini file?
Here is guide on how to use rebuilder http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd_rebuilder_tutorial.cfm
If you are using HC18 make sure you select Best as this will give you a better picture but will obviously take more time to encode.

hi, well just to report back i have a new problem. i backd up my pulp fiction dvd however it recognised as a mixed media disk by my xbox 360 and by my standalone as a folder [displays video_ts folder] i backed up my infernal affairs dvd and everyhting is fine
with both i used vobblanker to remove extras, and shrunk the menu with menu shrunk
then used 7 pass CCE
with pulp fiction its been the same result twice
any ideas?

Quote: then used 7 pass CCE
7 passes is to much, I recommend using 2/3 passes as there will be no gain in quality by going over 3/4 passes.
I suggest asking in this thread http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/97052 as the maker of dvd-rebuilder (jdobbs) often visits here and will be able to help you.

I agree on the amount of passes anything over 3 really does not do much more, and is just wasting time. Why not rip with DVD Decrypter, unless this is a reissue of Pulp Fiction, there should be no protection DVDD cannot handle, and then if you are using the Pro Version of RB use the 3 click mode and you can preview and edit after the prep phase.
