It couldn't be because it's the other computer in the house (The one that isn't mine and is running '98 on it.) that is directly connected and I'm just connected to that by a large white cable, could it?

your pc is not directly connected to the router??? I understood this as you are connected to the win98 machine via a cable, ang the win98 machine is connected to the router. Am I correct?

What kind of cable connects the two pcs???

I think that's what we've done, I just don't get it. My logic was that because he's the kinda main one, it might be him that does this stuff. 'pparently not.

damn router lol .I googled it back when I first posted to try and find a manual with instructions on how to get into the web interface(the router utility) and there is no website or anything even close.It will be extremely hard to forward the port with out accessing this utility.

Well I'm out.... sammorris and DoubleDwn know more than me in general.So not much I can do here.Good luck creamer and have a good one peace.

Just spent the last half hour with him via MSN. I dont think these routers have a config page (strange as it may seem). There is absolutely NO support for these any where on the web.

Creamer, is your computer plugged into the router or into 98 computer? look at the connectors of the net cable side by side, are they identical in color postions to the pins of the connector or different postions as in red is on pin 1 not on pin 2? check this link on port forwarding. http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm
