I was reading around http://www.ps2nfo.com/sitefaq.html and noticed topic #8. Although i own all of the originals I backup, I still wanted to download the "Machine ID Changer" just in case. After i got it, I noticed that there was no tutorial. I was going to post in thier but then i noticed the Disclaimer. I didnt see anything regarding this suject in the "stickys", so im asking if anyone knows were i can get a Tutorial for the download.

Clearly...LOL. Honesty when i saw ur comment i just thought it was some internet nerd lingo and u were makin fun of me or somthing. ive never seen "\|/" being used as an arrow b4 so i just ignored it. For noobs like myself it might be a better idea to just give them the link on were to get stuff. Like for instance i went to the link in ur sig and typed "machine id changer" in the search collum only to come up with a bunch of posts that had nothing to do with the subject, accept one, by "aamirshah" where he was told to check the search collum which leads nowhere. Please bare with me on this. most noobs like myself have a hard time searching for things like this. I know u guys would like us to learn how to find things ourselves, but in some casess like this one, it would be more helpful to everybody if u posted a direct link to what we're looking for.

ok heres where i wound up.
the id changer post by yojay was the one i mostly looked at, but once again it was just for the file and no tutorial was posted. what am i to do with the file? burn it on to a cd? combind it with another program? double click it and somthing magical will happen? the file that i downloaded wasnt even reconized by my computer!?! if u know how to use these tools could u just post how instead of a link? (i think thats within the forum rules)
P.S. thanx for taking the time to help me out and being patient. most fourm vets would have yelled at me by now...

You need to open the partial_console_ids file using MicroSoft Office's Xcel program. It contains all the info you need to know.

lol. Yeah, panther, its the xcel file you need to open, NOT the bin file, which is what I think you've actually opened.
