i've downloaded a game that gave me 1 MDF file with 236 MG and 1 MDS file with 486 bytes. The icon for the MDF file is unknown and the MDS file has the ISO looking icon. I was thinking about burning the MDS file, but its only 486 bytes, and that cant possibly have the whole game. so i don't know what to do... help plz.
oh and BTW the game MvC2....
oh and if im breaking forum rules plz inform me :[
no not breaking rules and the mds jus tells the program what to burn. so burn the mds and it wont jus come out as 486 bytes, it will burn the mdf file. if does only come out as 496 bytes, then sumthings wrong
well because the small 486 byte MDS file has the ISO looking icon, i actually tried to just burn it, but DVD Decrypter says Invalid or unsupported image file format....
then try the mdf file. that should work. u might have to convert it if this doesnt but it should. mdf n mds r jus like .bin n .cue files. shouldnt need converting tho. and do some research next time :). let me kno if it works
ummm well since DVD decryptor doesnt work for this game i downloaded Alcohol 120% and i am using the trial version. i was able to get the MDS file and it said 236 MG or something like that, which looks good, but i try to burn it, it says that i have to insert a blank disc. and the thing is, the blank disc is in the drive... -_-. so right now im researching on whats wrong.. >:O
have you tried using a blank cd with Alcohol? I noticed that when i get .mds files, they are associated with cd format games and .iso with dvd format. If you tried using dvd decryptor then i assume you did that with a blank dvd. If you already tried alcohol with a blank cd then just disregard this.
rain35m, yeah your right. I had to use a CD instead of a DVD for the mds. It won't allow burns for DVDs in MDS. so yeah thx. I got it to work with Alcohol 120%. the MDS ended being the 236 MG instead of the small bytes. THX
Actually .mds files are made from Alcohol 120.. It doesn't mean it's a CD game.. The fact that it is under 700 MB should tell you it's a CD game.. if the file was over 700 MB then you'd have to use a DVD.
