hi i have just purchased my psp version 1.5 i have spent about 6 hours trying to get grand theft auto to work i have an iso please help me i have read things that tell me how to do it but still nothing can somebody please write a simple set of instuctions for me thanks chris

You'll need umdemulator v0.8c and mph gameloader, once you have those give me a shout.

Well I can tell you it definitely works cos that's how I used to play it. Lets start from the beginning, where do you have all your folders???

Yeah it would be for us but they all seem to have loads of problems with devhook, I'm not sure why.

I think its cuz everyone is downloading the prepackaged devhook with all the firmware files. I never got a single one of those packages to work. Got the 2.5 data.psar from one of my 2.5 eboots and used the DH FW installer. Worked the first time and havent had a single problem.

Yeah I installed the 2.00 and 2.50 myself, takes a few mins but at least you know it's done properly. And for the people that are new to this, it's probably a bit daunting having to use all these different programs, so if they can d/l it already done then they will.

can some send me a set of instuctions to follow as i have a modified gta iso with all the prx files done so its just installing

You do not need to modify the prx files. Go to http://www.psp-hacks.com and download devhook .42a. Also go to the firmware section and download the 2.5 eboot. Youre also going to need pspbrew. Install psp brew and extract the data.psar file. Put the data.psar onto the root of your memory stick along with the devhook package. Open the firmware installer. Run that and at the end tell it not to copy the registry info. Then run devhook. You should then be able to play GTA.

It could more then likely be the cause. You HAVE to have a UMD in the drive when using UMD Emu.

Mate just put a umd in and see what happens, if it still doesn't work then give us a shout. I'm not gonna waste my time guessing what else it could be when I'm 99.999999999999999999% sure thats the problem.

ryt bought a game should recieve tomorrow and i didnt edit the prx files they were already done by someone elseand what about the mph game loader that keeps fezzin a go into do the emulator and then go to mph 1.5 to 2.0 loader it says loading and nothing

Because you haven't got a umd in!!!!!
You could just go to your local shop, buy a psp mag with a free demo and use that.

BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO PUT IN A UMD FOR IT TO WORK!!! it wont load if there's no umd cos the mphgameloader and umd emu trick it into thinking its loading a umd instead of an iso
