Alright so I got a PSP in the mail, The sender told me there is something wrong with it. I asked if he did homebrew, He said no. So I get the PSP in the mail about a few days later anyways here is where I am having prbs when I turn my PSP on the screen lights uo but it is still black and the Green light comes on then about 6 secs later the system shuts off. It doesn't make it to the menu or anything. I searched around and the cheapest place to get the PSP fixed will cost me $120CDN but they don't know whats going on anyway Ideas how I can fix this?

Did he say that? If so, its probably b/s.
Two reasons:
1) If i bought a PSP that didnt work id take it back immediatly to get it replaced, not sell it on to someone else..
2) PSPs do NOT come bricked, he has bricked it himself and is selling it on
The only way for you to fix it is to use the modchip, or even sell it on..

He told me he got it as a gift and the buyer lost the Slip to take it back. Best Buy said they can look at and see whats wrong for $40CDN and if they caan't do anything they will send it to Sony wich will take 2-3 weeks.

For $80CDN? What if I buy this and I but it in my PSP and it does the same thing then what? So the Mod Chip makes bricked PSP's work?

Yes, b/c the ModChip uses a secondary flash. So instead of routing to the broken flash, it can then route to the new working flash. (modchip)

there are many guides and tuts all over the web, but it needs soldering and you have to solder tiny wires.

Does it come with a Guide? I traded 6 DS games for this PSP. I may send the PSP back but if I can get back then I got a good deal.

Mod chip.com as a PSP mod-chip for $120CDN, But I am worried that because that what if I my PSP isn't bricked? I would have wasted $120. But if I buy this Mod Chip I am some what of a n00b when it comes to mod chips but would I be able to do it myself? And can I trust Modchip.com? And for online mony orders how will I do it? Can I send the money order to the site from the Postel place?

im not sure but i doubt it because all the modchip does is give it a new flash (system). but it genuinely sounds like a brick. if you can get access to a video camcorder, video yourself trying to boot it up, and we can see whats, what then :)

Ok I think I can do this with my Camra. But when a PSP is bricked does it go to the Menu? Because all my PSP does is turn on then shuts off. It doesn't make it to the menu or anything.

Alright a few days ago when I called Sony about this they said they can replace it for $150CDN, They didn't say they would take it back if it was bricked. I just told the person on the line what was going on and they said they can replace it.
