I have 2 games I wanna back up onto CD-R's and was wondering what program is best to get around the security features of the disk.

The games are:

Sim City 4 Deluxe Edition
Rise of Nations

I used Alcohol 120% but keep getting parts not read (I think due to the security of the disk). I truly do have the store bought copies of the games and just want them backed up in case they get scratched.

Thanks.

before you burned them, did you use array scanner to see what kind of protection there was and select that protection? With Alcohol, It will give you a huge block of errors at the beggining and will then start burning as that is it getting past the protectoin

Blindwrite is pretty good, but generally the best place to start is www.gamecopyworld.com . Only if you own the original game, though.

okay, now kinda stuck. Used A-Ray and scanned Rise of Nations. Found out it had safedisk 2. something protection on it. Ripped and burned the disk with the safedisk 2/3 setting. I put the disk in and it loads the main menu and says "play" and the other options regularly. But when I go to play it says eject disk and enter Rise of Nations CD. Do I need a no cd crack or what. I installed the game with the original disk and now just popped in the burned copy, would this be case? Do I need to install with the burned one and play with the burned one? Or do I need the no cd crack? I was hoping I could just burn the disk and pop it in like the original disk.

okay, I burnt the disk. I just need a fixed exe or no CD crack. I found one for the 1.1 version which is what I have but I need an upgrade patch. Because the version I have is version 1.13 and the upgrade with gamespy's online mulitplayer automatically updates my version to 1.14 (which is the same version the crack is for) but does anyone know where I can download the patch from an exe file or something cause gamespy ain't gonna probably keep up to date with that update and it hasn't been working on my computer lately.

1.14 upgrade patch needed then I can get the crack and all will be good. thanks y'all.
