Your Own Personal Opinion is Welcome!
I burn on the highest possible for the media on my DVDR
I dont notice any difference on play/load when burning on diff speeds.
(or was it because i only burn on 4x / 8x where applicable on my media?)
I always try my backup'd ps2 games on USBAdvance before burning just to ensure that the Image is not corrupt.
My Dud burn (error ratio) is roughly just around 5 out 100,
those where done during my beta burning stages, FFXint, NBALive06, Prince2Thrones and some movies. Burning PS2 games is my current hobby.
My first PS2 SCPH-35000gt3 lens died for only about 2 years (2001-2003),its just plain bad luck that i have bought a ps2 with less laser life. my 2nd PS2 unit SCPH-30000 is 2nd hand pre owned, (only modded when bought) playing backups hardcore yet this one is still alive until now.
-extra info's-
"BTW even the original Kingdom Hearts 2 DVD has LONG loading times compared to other games and not because of your backup"
(I Admit USBAdvance compatibility is limited Should i really fork out some cash for the Network Adapter / HD Connector Combo for PS2? Faster Loading?)

1) Everyone knows cheap media is bad for ANY DVD reader
2) Burning at the highest speed is possible, but not suggested, and this applies to ANY burning and not just for PS2
3) The reason the laser died so easily IS partly due to the cheap media (although I agree the design of the PS2 isn't the best), the pre owned PS2 you got now could have a laser fix which helps to save the laser even with cheap media

nope my ps2 has no laserfix whatsoever. bought from my best friend and i also watched as he remove the warranty seal and solder the modchip, before i pay him.
another note: my friend has a ps2 play rental shop and from his experiences he said what drains lens life faster are inconsistent pirate backup copies on gold media from china and the sorts.

I'd just edit your first post since you can't remove the thread (only a moderator can do that) :)

why do it wrong when you can do it right ? the junk blank media(memorex etc.) isnt that much less expensive than the good stuff(Taiyo Yuden and or Verbatim). and it will last lots longer .burning at 4x on games insures they will be playable in your unit. i really dont understand why you posted this its like a slap in the face for the folks trying to do it right.
