i have checked on so many forums but to no avail

i have also taken apart the mobo and cpu to check for bent pins but the all seem fine

has anyone had this problem or does anyone know how what i should do ?? thanks

The only thing I can think of is RAM. have you tried different or re-seating the RAM?

Well if you don't have a good stick of ram then the computer won't boot at all. I think that's why he suggested that. Since it seems, you've done everything else to amke sure it works, I also suggest that you try another ram module. Just to double check.

Also, since there is no signal to your monitor, you might want to make sure the video card does work. I had the same problem with a video card. The computer would turn on and the fan would run but nothing after that.

make certain the cmos jumper is set to default & not clear. try the board with just psu, stick of ram & videocard out of the case as might be a grounding issue.

Try getting the drivers for Sata off the motherboard disk and put them on a floppy. When you run the windows xp disk, then press f6 when asked about raid drivers. Load the drivers and your sata hard disk should work then. This is assuming that's what you were talking about when u said configure.
