Is there any real benefit in doing this? I mean, v1.50 FW is the most versatile and if you can't launch most homebrews and applications, what can we get out of this?

PSP 2.5/2.6 Downgrader
Results:
Confirmed Downgrade: 0
Bricked PSP's: 6
Unchanged Firmware Version, and Non-bricked PSP's: 1
I don't get the above... How did you downdate your 2.60 if you say in the quote of your sig you never got the downdater to work?

I could see the fact that 1.00 might become the new 1.50, since it seems as though it constantly runs overclocked... I could also see this as a real benifit to programmers out there, since this is a much easier firmware to work on...
I don't really know at this point, but all I know is I have 3 1.00 PSPs now...

Well, I was one of the people who decieded to test the very first downgrader for 2.5, and 2.6. I sacrificed 6 PSP's in the name of all that is good in PSP. I did this just to get a real percentage of bricks for the people everywhere. Basically reminding them that the downgrader is not worth the risk at this point.
I really don't know but I feel like I am talking out of my ass at this point, it seems far fetched that anyone would do something like that...

I want one :D
;)
The only advantage to 1.0 is that it can be used to run custom firmware. At this moment in time, i dont think its worth downgrading because theres no confirmation of custom firmwares. When there is, im going down though :)

Tastes good already!
Do you think that hackers could actually code completly different firmwares? Like, for example, add a menu to the XMB that allows you to, i dont know, launch an iso from mem stick? Like you just scroll to it and press x to laod the game. Would that be possible?

I think that Custom FWs will be extremly hard even think of the ammount of stuff you would have to do for it. I think I might dip my hand into the world of flash programming, but then again I already am making games for PC, and PSP so I think i'll stick to PSP games.

The only custom bios out yet is the Gameshark firmware I think, and even that is only 1.50 and includes 2.00 media codecs...

Lol you can always upgrade, then downgrade again... I plan on staying at 1.00 for a long time, since I am a Homebrew Developer...
