I have a DVP3040 DVD Player, that plays DivX and XviD files. I burned some file to a dvd, but only some of them played. I found out that it only plays XviD videos with a data rate of 120 or less. How do I change the data rate of the XviD files?

The player has DivX Home Theater certification, so if you select a home theatre profile in XviD (2 pass encode), then it should definatly play. If it doesn't then the player is faulty. The reason for this is that the home theatre profiles in XviD activates VBV settings conforming to the DXN HT profile. This limits the bitrate (data rate is basically bitrate measured in Bytes instead of bits) so that all HT certified players should be able to handle it. HT also means a limit of 720x576 for resolution.

What do you mean by select a home thatre profile? It plays the XviD videos, but it plays them almost in slow motion. Can you explain how to do that?
