You have what we call a "dead pixel", dead pixels occur in many products that have LCD screens. The only way you can fix it is by replacing the LCD screen.

Some of the dead pixels can be fixed tho. There is many homebrew apps available to help in the aid of this. this always doesn't work but it does help sometimes. The downside is you have to let it run on average for 20 mins.

the ones that can be fixed, aren't dead pixels, they are stuck pixels, completely different, there are stuck pixel cleaners, but no dead pixel fixers, the only way to fix a dead pixel is by replacing the screen.

I already went throught two PSP Core Packs and they are the best PSPs yet, they are FW 2.5 so you can downgrade them.

The difference in them is that the D-Pad has a rubber casing inside which helps it not to be sqeaky and the square button has been fixed so when you press down on it it doesn't go in at an angle.

I would say return your PSP and get a Core Pack with FW 2.5 and downgrade it to FW 1.5 and then go on your merry way hombrewing lol :)

be careful using stuck pixel cleaners. Only use the ones that come as videos. The one that comes as an Eboot has the PSP virus and will brick your PSP.

What do u mean by choose what u want? I dont see much choosing. Unless your referring to firmware version. I think the only way you could "choose" if it was a used psp at a local gamestop, eb games, eb boutique, stores of that degree.

i bought 2 of my psp's about 2 weeks apart, they were both factory 1.5's one of those then got upgraded to 2.0 and then on friday i downgraded that one back to 1.5, then i bought a psp core pack a week after those came out and got a factory 2.5 w/o the TA-082 Mobo, and upgraded that one to 2.6....but the 2.5 one or whatever i didn't really bother looking for a specific firmware, and the 1.5's i told them i wanted one of the spiderman2 bundles they had in the back (i know people that work there and they told me they had some old ones 8 total now down to 3) but they usually don't care because your buying something, so you can look at the box numbers or whatever, but opening the units (if their new; won't happen) but if ur at a used game store u can probably tell them you want to find a specific version of the unit.
