Someone, (I don't remember who) wanted a report on final CiSOd sizes of the following games and so I figured I'd report on how much compression the CiSO tool puts out:

Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition - Did a lot of hacking on this game. Dummied ALL of the cutscenes, prize movies and tutorials as I've already beaten this game before. Cut out ALL techno, most rap, most rock, most drum n bass, and some others b/c I only wanted to keep a few songs to see how far I could push the limits. I was pretty disappointed when I saw the giant data file weighing in at around 1.02GB. Nothing you can do w/ that. I brought the original ISO down from like 1.60GB to around 1.20GB by ripping the movies. The music rip took it down to 1.02GB - amazing how much room the music can take up, even as .at3 files! Anyway, then I took the 1.02GB version and used CiSO to get it down even more in the final stage of shrinking.

Final Size: 605.83MB :o (amazing! A gain of about 1.10GB!!!)

LocoRoco - Didn't do much messing around here. Just erased the update file and compressed. Original size: Somewhere around 640MB.

Final Size: 361.78MB (Not too much, but not too bad, either...)

Lemmings - Didn't do much screwing around here, either, but I was impressed w/ the shrink. Started out around 480MB. Deleted update folder.

Final Size: 166.95MB (Pretty good!)

So that's it. Whoever asked me for this report, I hope you read this and I hope it helps you.

So it's confirmed - Midnight Club, LocoRoco and Lemmings all work CiSOd, for those of you who were wondering but hadn't tried yet.

Also - A small note about Ghost in teh Shell: I got this working w/ DevHook v0.41d. It has to be a virgin ISO. For some reason, this is THE MOST touchy game aside from Splinter Cell to get working. DO NOT CiSO it, DO NOT DAX it... Virgin rip at around 748MB and it'll work fine. Right now, I have to play it w/ DAXZISO as an ISO b/c for some reason it won't work in DevHook. (I don't think it's the virgin copy; I think it's the modified version.)

Good luck and happy hacking! ^_^

normally ppl do. (Think working games list for DevHook) But someone asked me to do this... erm... *lightbulb* oh... you mean CiSOd games. Ah yes. Well, we know

***CONFIRMED WORKING/NON-WORKING CiSOd GAMES:***

Ghost in the Shell DOES NOT work.

Midnight Club DOES work.

Lemmings DOES work.

LocoRoco DOES work.

Juiced Eliminator isn't worth it. I only lost like 10MB. Virgin rip: Around 290MB

Infected Virgin rip: 283MB. DOES NOT work. I mean it does, but there is no sound. If you DAX it, it still has sound. NO RIP KIT USED. Non-CiSOd, Confirmed working.

Colin McRae DOES work. Goes from around 980MB down to like 490MB. NO RIP KIT, Confirmed working.

SOCOM (First Release - Fire Team Bravo?) DOES work. Virgin Rip to CiSO. From around 500MB down to like 380MB. DO NOT RIP. To my recollection, it screws the game up and it won't load. Non-rip kit version Confirmed working.

MediEvil DOES WORK w/ rip kit and all. Original Size: around 900MB. CiSOd: around 884MB. Rip kit and then CiSO: around 480MB. ONLY THING RIPPED WAS MOVIES. FULL SDTK/COMMENTS. Confirmed working.

Burnout Legends Virgin rip: around 932MB. Remove 610MB worth of .pad (dummy) files - 322MB. CiSOd: around 223MB. HAS FULL SDTK. Confirmed working, BUT WILL NOT EXIT TO XMB. ALWAYS CRASHES.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted 5-1-0 I can't remember original size. CiSOd: around 156MB. RIP KIT WAS USED./FULL SDTK. Confirmed working.

Ridge Racer Virgin rip: Around 700-800MB. CiSOd: Around 125MB. RIP KIT WAS USED./Confirmed working, NO SDTK.

Street Supremacy Virgin rip: Around 478MB. No rip kit used. CiSOd only lost around 10-12MB. Not worth using CiSO converter. Confirmed working. Full SDTK.

ToCA 2 Virgin rip: Around 850MB. NO Rip kit used. CiSOd: around 384MB. Confirmed working. Full SDTK.

WRC (FIA World Rally Championship) Full rip around 1.18GB. I couldn't get the rip kit to work, (bad rip kit) so I downloaded the ISO pre-ripped and then bought the game. (I don't support Piracy). If you want this game the smallest you can get it, download and BUY the game. Torrent version: Around 650-700MB. CiSOd: Around 380MB. Nothing valuable ripped. Full SDTK. Very hard rip b/c the game has a giant .DAT file. Confirmed working.

Tony Hawk's Underground Remix 2 Virgin rip around 1.10GB. I LOVE the SDKT so I couldn't erase ANY of the songs. Didn't rip any of the movies b/c I find them humorous. CiSOd: Around 989MB. Confirmed working. Full SDTK.

Splinter Cell Essentials Virgin rip: Around 1.68GB. (HUGE!) Kept Virgin. DO NOT USE RIP KIT. IF YOU HAVE THE SPACE, PLAY THE FULL 1.68GB RIP, OTHERWISE DON'T MESS W/ THE GAME. You will only be disappointed b/c the rip kit creates lots of glitches. I personally tried manually ripping the major files out like music and whatnot. I wanted ALL interrogations to remain b/c well... there's no point in interrogating if you can't hear anything. Plus, I like the on-screen text. I kept the rip virgin, replaced the PRX files w/ Street Riders and STILL had MINOR problems. For instance, when an enemy detects you during game play, in the background you hear a "dadadadadadadadadadadad" really loud and it has a lot of bass. So you can't really hear anything but that noise when you're detected while you're playing, even if the enemies are talking. There is ONE part of the game in a hallway where if you crouch, you WILL NOT be able to stand up again until you're out of the hallway. This is on the 2nd level on the ship when you go downstairs into the hallway to the right. This game is only good for about 2-3 hours of gameplay before it makes your PSP crash. I highly recommend ROTATING your saves. b/c if you don't, you'll lose your progress. It happens like this: You play for around 2-3 hours (approx 25-30 saves). Just before the PSP crashes, you will try to save and your save will fail. The failed save will corrupt your entire save file and you will have to delete it. At this point, to avoid the crash you HAVE TO EXIT TO XMB. Delete the corrupt save game and start again. This is not a once-in-a-while thing; I played the entire game. It happens EVERY time. Confirmed working, minor glitches. NO RIP KIT USED./Full SDTK.

That's all I've got for now, folks.

Guano do you use dax for your 1.5/1.52fw games? Run into any issues with this loader and older games yet?

@ dusk:

No. Actually, what I do is I use PSPset to trickchange my FW version to 2.00, then I use Direct load on DAXZISO and it loads teh games. Most games which are 1.51/1.52 can be played by simply trick updating. GTA:LCS was the first one that didn't work this way. If you have problems w/ 1.51/1.52 games, just replace the PRX files w/ 1.50 PRX files. It's that easy. I didn't know about that earlier on, but I've got all my games working anyway, and I can't be bothered to change them out now. W/ DevHook, the ONLY game I can't get working and I don't understand why is Ghost in the Shell. Other than that, SOCOM loads like a champ... Those are the only 2 1.51/1.52 games I have aside from Burnout Legends... The problem I have w/ that one is it doesn't exit by using "Home" after I'm done playing it. So when I'm done playing it, I have to do a hard reset. But I won't use it in DAXZISO b/c I don't wanna use 36 different loaders to play my games; just DevHook.

:)

Ok thanks for the detailed reply, I don't like too many loaders as well and for some reason could not get my older games to run with dev. but looks like the solution is simply so I will give it a go.
