Yes. Use DevHook v0.42a (no auto run mod by mok)

Get PRX files here.

http://prx.psp-tuts.net/prx

you need to change all 2.60 PRX files out w/ 2.50 ones and recompile the ISO using VcdromX.

here's the tutorial for VcdromX:
http://forums.maxconsole.net/archive/index.php/t-13633.html

and here's the download:
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/183

Good luck and happy hacking!

don't worry it won't be. They don't list games on the PRX page. You just navigate to the PRX folder in PSP_GAME, see what PRX files you need and go to that link and d/l all the PRX that you saw you needed. Download them all, copy and paste them into the PSP_GAME's PRX folder and say "YES TO ALL" re: overwriting.

Peace

If you have the PSP_GAME folder, you double click it. Inside that, you should find SYSDIR and USRDIR. Go into USRDIR and look for a folder named one of the following:

PRX
PRX 2_0_0
Kmodule
Module
Kmod
Mod

Go into whatever folder it's called and look for the PRX files. Once you find them, write them down or w/e you need to do and then go to http://prx.psp-tuts.net/prx and download the ones you wrote down. Then, take all of the ones you downloaded and put them in the folder from where you wrote them down. Drag and drop and hit "YES TO ALL". It will replace them.

After that, back out of the folders until it shows PSP_GAME and UMD_DATA.BIN. Take those two, drag and drop them in VcdromX and rebuild the ISO. Then, drag and drop the ISO into the ISO folder in your ms0. (root of MS)

Let me know if you still need help.

btw, if you only have the actual ISO, you need a copy of UMDGen. Get it here: (By using UMDGen, this will help you get the PSP_GAME and UMD_DATA.BIN. This is how the ISO needs to be broken down so you can change the PRX files)

www.umdgen.com

Drag and drop the ISO into the biggest screen on the right (once you open up UMDGen) and click the button which shows the Disc in front of the piece of paper. This will extract the ISO contents to a folder of your choice. Then you can navigate thru the folders to find PRX folder.

Sorry I'm still lost on where I should be looking for "PSP_GAME" folder?

I looked on my PSP 1.5 (D:\PSP\GAME) but there is nothing called "SYSDIR or "USRDIR" in it. Should I be looking on the PSP or somewhere else??

On your computer. You have the ISO file, right? Well, if you have the ISO (game) just follow the steps above for UMDGen. It basically says if you have the ISO, drop it into UMDGen and then click "Extract entire ISO contents".

By "GAME" you mean "ISO", right? I just re-read your message. Now, from re-reading, I am assuming you have the 2.60 UMD? Are you trying to get a 2.60 UMD running or are you trying to get an ISO you downloaded working?

Sorry to confuse you. Usu when someone asks how to get a 2.60 game working, I automatically assume they have the ISO. If it's the UMD game you have that you want working, you need to d/l a copy of UMD Ripper. DO NOT DOWNLOAD FASTLOADER v0.7 BECAUSE THIS WILL MAKE IT WAY MORE CONFUSING FOR YOU if you've never ripped a game before.

So get UMD Ripper here:
http://mphwebsite.tuxfamily.org/index.php?program=2

Put the "UMDRipper" and "UMDRipper%" in your PSP\GAME menu. Run the program w/ the UMD game in the drive. (The game you want to have working on a v1.50) Make sure you have a lot of free space on your Memory Stick. Like if you have a 2GB MS (hopefully you do) then it should be empty. If you have a 1GB MS, you will actually have to use Fastloader. I'll explain it all, but let me know what you are working with.

If you have a 2GB MS tho, run the program (UMD Ripper) and the game will automatically rip. You will see a bunch of writing and the MS light will constantly blink. Once it is done (maybe 30 mins later) you can see on the screen: "Rip Terminie. Sur Puor home Quitter" something like that. It's french. It means the rip is done. Just hit "Home" and go back to the XMB. Do this whole process ONLY if you have an empty 2GB MS. If you only have a 1GB MS, let me know and I'll send you a link on where to get Fastloader and how to use it.

Ok ... I have used Fastloader to rip UMD's in the past and used them (but not 2.6 FW games).

The current issue is with a .CSO image file ... the "Extract entire ISO contents" is not available for this file type :-(

Side question .... would you recommend MPH ripper over Fastloader?

No. Fastloader is way FASTER than UMD Ripper. I didn't know you had previously used Fastloader. So it obviously won't be that confusing for you. In fact, if your game is in .cso format right now, just use the CiSO tool to DECOMPRESS the .cso file. (make sure you tick the box at the bottom left of the CiSO compression tool box. The one where it offers you to change CSO->ISO and DAX->CSO) Once it is back in ISO format, use UMDGen to extract the files, then go and change out the PRX files how I previously described.

Uses:

UMD Ripper:
I find UMD Ripper particularly useful for when I need to hack an ISO image that I've ripped. This way, it goes straight into PSP_GAME and UMD_DATA.BIN and I can start hacking it right off the MS instead of taking the ISO, changing the name, dropping it in UMDGen and extracting the contents and THEN FINALLY hacking it thru PSP_GAME. Takes forever w/ Fastloader, if you need to hack.

Fastloader v0.7:
I find this useful for when I DO NOT have to hack an ISO and I can just change the name of it to "Need for Speed.iso" or w/e the game is and launch it. Mostly useful for 1.50 games or if you just wanna get the rip done quickly and deal w/ hacking it later.

Know of a place I can get the cisco tool? ... I found one but it's all DOS bases ... no "box to tick" and I can't quit figure out how to decompress it with the dos commands ... the read me says...

*******
compressed ISO converter ciso.exe

usage -

1st method - (batch isos)

Put the ciso.exe and ciso.bat in the same folder as your isos.
Start ciso.bat and it will convert all your isos to .cso :)

Make sure ciso.exe is in the same folder as .bat

*********************************************************************

2nd method - (for seperate isos) type in command prompt

1.compress ISO to CSO
ciso 9 [ISO_name] [CSO_name]

2.decompress CSO to ISO
ciso 0 [CSO_name] [ISO_name]

Ok ... got the PRX files replace :-)

Now you say to:

"After that, back out of the folders until it shows PSP_GAME and UMD_DATA.BIN. Take those two, drag and drop them in VcdromX and rebuild the ISO.

But they wont "drag and drop" from UMDGen

Also you say:

"Then, drag and drop the ISO into the ISO folder in your ms0. (root of MS) "

by that you mean "drag them from VcdromX to mem. stick ISO folder ... right?

THANKS for all the help so far :-)

So does that mean you already have the PRXs replaced in UMDGen? If so, just save the ISO.

Then copy the saved ISO to a folder called ISO in the root of your memory stick.

...VcdromX and rebuild the ISO

isn't needed??

No, what I mean is, once you extract the files w/ UMDGen, you will have the PSP_GAME and UMD_DATA.BIN OUTSIDE of UMDGen, somewhere on your PC. Find those, then drag and drop THOSE into VcdromX. But I take it you've changed the PRX files out WITHIN UMDGen, correct? Good either way. But you still need to rebuild w/ VcdromX. I've tried it w/ UMDGen AND w/ VcdromX just b/c I wanted to see the diff results compared to what everyone was saying. (Everyone was saying UMDGen wouldn't work, and they were right. When you launch teh ISO, the PSP's screen goes black.)

Here is my own personal tutorial for VcdromX:
http://s10.quicksharing.com/v/6489657/VcdromX_v3.6_Tutorial.txt.html

Let me know if this helps, man! Good luck.

Dam Mother F$#@!%^ game still says I need 2.6 FW :-(

Did I miss something??

After replacing the PRX files in UMDGen I saved it as an ISO (from UMDGen)

Now I'm gonna try to extract the files with UMDGen and try to input them from my HD to VcdRom and use it to create ISO file and see if that works

Ok ... I saved the PSP_GAME and UMD_DATA.BIN files to my HD

I dropped them into VCDROM App

I created a .FCD file from them

I got to step #7 of your tut ... but now I'm lost

********

7.) After you hit "OK", click the "??(F)" at the very top. Choose the selection labeled "??????(C)".

8.) A box will pop up. Click the TOP RIGHT "??" box. This will start to rebuild your .FCD in .ISO format. This will take little while.

******

What is the "??(F) you speak of? and the "????? (C)" ??

How do I rebuild the .FCD file to an ISO?

Man this is kicking my A$$

But thanks for sticking with me :-D

LOL!

Hopefully, you've left VcdromX open. If you have, just go all the way to the TOP LEFT (I think I mis-typed) here, just look at this:
