Well im about to purchase a psp and I'm interested in how the warranty works. Like when I get it, I will just need to save the receipt, correct? What information do they take down - serial number of psp etc. ? Also, do they replace the psp if you messed with flash on homebrew?
Any answers to these questions would be appreciated.

well you need to take care of the receipt for a warranty and guarantee
1. guarantee... you need receipt. they usually will not write down your serial number but will check your s.number on ur psp with the one on ur box and on the white label at the bottom of your psp. As for a guarantee is you give the psp back within 28 days with an escuse e.g. dead pixels then they will give u a refund if not they ususally will send it to be repaired
2.warranty... you need a receipt . the rest i havwe no idea since i have never tried

If your going to buy a psp go to best buy and get the 2 year extended warranty. Its like 36 dollars. That warranty will cover anything except for loss. I have bricked so many psps from improper flashing and they replace it everytime. You could piss on it and they would replace it. Absolutely anything except for loss, like i said previously.

Thanks for the help so far. And, you can only buy a warranty when purchasing your system right? So if I dont get it then, I can't it at all right?

Well actually if you go to best buy you have up to 30 days after purchasing it to add the 2 year extended warranty. I would get it and purposely break it just to get a new one. Did this a few times also.

yeh but surely the newt time u went to get it they wouldnt have any more 1.5s or downgradable versions.
And when extended guarantee is bought with psp its usually cheaper than if you go buy it later

I never sent my PSP in for repair becuase I didnt want Sony to upgrade it from 1.5. Instead I got the Part for $7 on Ebay shipping included.

if u buy the xtended warranty 30 days later it is the same price. And i recently just bought multiple psps from best buy and none of them were over firmware 2.01 and WERE NOT TA-082 PSP's so they are fully downgradeable.
