Hi,
I received my Coder Cd & DVD which is actually enhanced version of Swapmagic so that u can put in cheat codes along with the magic switch I ordered.I have PS2 slim V 14.When i use the Switch A i.e. install it, the top of my PS2 wouldn't close properly.I burnt a Sony DVD-R at 4x speed on Sony DVD+/- dvd drive,& tried to use swapmagic to swap. But still it asks me to insert a PS2 disc. Can someone who has Swapmagic, uses the Swapmagic Pro v3 please tell me step by step how to enable my backup game to play.
If all this does not work,i might have to return the stuff. Well,it would be heartbreaking but i would be left with no other option. Please help me guys.Thanks.

you didn't install one of the keys properly (there are three) which is why it's asking you to insert a PS2 disc - check to make sure all of them are installed properly and try again

What do you have, fliptop or the slidetool+magickeys. Sounds like you could be doing it all wrong, try looking on http://www.swapmagic3.com or http://www.swapmagicfix.com for the guides or something to helpyou out. The good news is it doesn't seem like anything but the way u maybe doing it. The media is fine and burn speed is good so there isnt too much reasons except for getting it right, it took me about a week to figure the easy swapmagic out, due to poor instructions translated badly from china crap.

Hope that helps :)

Hi,
I got the magic keys & my PS2 version is 14.The keys include key at the reset button, the key for the breaker & the key which goes in the middle of the spring & the other parts.I will post the pictures of the keys as soon as available.
So if anyone has swapmagic & PS2 slim v. 14,can they please tell me how to install it? My DVD does not rotate as soon as i insert the 3rd key.So i think iam going wrong over there.Further, iam unable to close the lid of the PS2 perfectly,if iam using the 1st key (at the reset button).I seriously need help in this.
Moreover,i figured out that i did not burn my PS2 using the "Copy Wizard" in Alcohol.Instead i used "Image Making Wizard" & "Image Burning Wizard".Will that make any difference? Thanks guys.

Ok those "keys" you bought, are junk, except for the one that goes by the hinge. Now there are two that go by the hinge, or at least I got two with my pack. One is a cap that you have to open your PS2 to install, the other, is a lovely piece of mother ... piece of... anyway. I bought it so I wouldn't have to void my warranty and I was scared to open my PS2. Ok, well get over that first of all. Opening your PS2 is no biggy.

Anyway, my suggestion dump the "keys" in the trash and go get you a roll of electrical tape. Look around on the net there are a hundred web sites showing you how to install those keys and take your PS2 apart. Just follow those and use the tap to close the switches. I put my piece of tape by the reset switch on the under side of the top part of the case. Also, while your inside there REMOVE that disc stop spring. I tried leaving it and using the "key" to stop it and every time I moved my PS2 that key would fall out and one time it fell under the laser mechanism and came real close to muffing my PS2. Lastly, I recently removed the piece of tape by the reset switch, cut the little pusher down pole thingy ;D with finger nail clippers and stuck a piece of rubber I cut into that square hole. Now if I need to make it detect the lid is open for AR Max or multi disc games I can, by pulling the piece of rubber out.

DEATH TO THE "KEYS!" ;D

Ok this one goes a bit farther, there are pics you just have to click on the links. They are really good pics too. This one actually tells you how to install a switch on the side of your PStwo for open lid sensors. More than likely you can just tape that one shut too. I did for like a year and RARELY have I "wanted" and NEVER have I "needed" to do an open lid detection. Like I said just put tape on the top part of your PS2 dont tape the sensor directly.

http://www.ps2nfo.com/pstwo.html

You might be able to come up with a better method. I used the one "key" for the sensor by hinge because it was just a clean cap. All the other keys I didn't like and found my own ways to do them. I just recommend finding something that is reversable in case it doesn't work and I've read about problems when people tried using super glue. I actually used that silver duct tape on mine to do the sensor by the reset and it worked very well until I decided I wanted a way to do an open lid detection with just a piece of rubber I cut and stuffed in that square hole by the reset button. That page should give you a good idea of what your dealing with though. Just popp your PS2 open, it's pretty much one big piece in there so your not going get in trouble when you put it back together and you'll see what needs to be done by the pictures. It'll take you like 15 minutes and 10 of that will be looking and reading the website I gave you. ;D

I was actually thinking of putting one of these bad boys on the side of mine. Instead of that flip switch.

Hi,
Can you tell me why you use that stuff from the Radio Shack? & Moreover, the methods mentioned, use PSTwo modding, which i dont really wanna do 'cause i dont want to void my warranty.Since I have already got my swapmagic,is there any other way without opening my PSTwo? Thanks.

Don't worry a bit because I had the exact same problems as you. First, the key over the reset button has to be bent down so it will fit all the way down in the hole. Then the lid will close properly. It's hard to explain how it looks but what you need to is to make that key into an L shape--

Sorta like that. The third key is the most problematic. Alot of people can't get it to sit on that sensor that determines if the lid is open or not. I got mine to work by again bending it slighly so that if I held the key down with my finger, a DVD would spin up. Also take note, the keys have a sticky tape underneath so that you can permanently keep them in place.

Here's a site to explain it to ya. It uses the version 14 as reference
