i am tying to run iso on my psp 1.5 which i bought on wednesday since then i have read up on countless guides to run games but no success yet i have the newest dev hook fast loader umd emulator and used umdgen for my iso's i even download a version of gta with pre done prx but that dont work either everything eithers freezes or doesnt work and i do have a umd in the drive and have he iso in non extracted format saved as iso in umdgen i am not lazy and have spent so much time
the games ive tried to run are gta and mw
please please help

have you got the firmware in file format for devhook? mph game loader should work with gta but id have though devhook ould work also what size mem stick have you got
oh yeah what settings have you got devhook set up to(press o when it loads to check the settings)

in dev hook it loads and seems to be working then goes to a black screen this is after i reboot devhook

try having devhook set up to these settings
umd select-what ever game you wanna boot
umd mount-iso any umd
umd version-2.xx->2.00
firmware-2.50
cpu clock-333mhz/166mhz
boot select-reboot xmb(or if that dont work try run umd)

no idea i never deal in prx's i just get ripkits or patches whenevr im rebuilding a game to boot

do you have the flah 0 and flash 1 folders in the root of the mem stick.also did you load the iso with umd emulator and let it freeze , then exit and immediately try mph gameloader 2.00?

what is new with the psp now.I have not broke mine out since january.give me the scoop.I still have version 1.50 and I want to upgrade to 2.00 but I want to be able to rip games and play them off my memory card and I also want to be able to play nester j nes snes and sega genesis.I want 2.00 for the web browser but it is not that important.so what is the best setup for my needs?thanks man I appreciate your help , it's been awhile!

Boy i guess so! You have missed so much cool stuff. Go to
http://www.psp-hacks.com and download the pre packaged version of devhook .44, we can now emulate firmware 2.71 fully and revert back to 1.5. It is so SWEET!!!! Any more questions just ask, or search as there is quite a few posts about devhook.

wo stop right there dont upgrade you can now emulate 2.71 firmware giving u the browser search for dev hook
PS3 brilliant ive got a 20gb jap here in the uk to high customs tho £92.90 and the step down was 45 quid oh well its awsome
psp(black1.5)
psp(white 1.5)
1 gb sandisk
other consoles (360)
PC AMD ATHALON 1.6GHZ AND FAST AS A P4 256 PCI EXPRESS ATI GRAPHICS (X550)
shinny new dell laptop on the way hopefully get next week hopefully fills the missing void my blody ps3 i dont have yet |

you can emulate 2.7 YEAH!
I was getting so frustrated emulating 2.00 with mph firmware loader in order to get the internet browser and my psp kept rebooting
also I want to ask you guysabout playing games that are above 1.50 .Are you telling me I can emulate 2.7 and play any game for psp no prob?
previously I was running umd emulator and mph gameloader using a ripped version of gta lcs on my memstick.i had to configure all these files to get it to work.Are you telling me I can dellete all that stuff and play gta or any game right from the umd itself and I can use the web browser and play wav files.I am getting so excited I feel like a little kid.I need input more input johnny 5!I a, going to read the thread you posted thanks.if there is anything else let me know.thankyou very much!

That is exactly what it means. Were are able to play EVERY psp game ATM. But sony will release a new firmware soon that combats there lil problem of the PSP devs.

I read the thread but I amconfused.I would like to emulatre 2.71 , that sound like priority #1.do I download devhook 0.44 with 2.71 emulation and install that?
I found this , is this all I need "Download: DevHook v0.44 w/ 2.71 FW Emulation - full install package, includes everything you require."
any tips or hints?what is the risk of bricking my psp?thanks

i dl dev 0.44 and placed the % and other folder in game folder and dh folder in root.what is the tools folder for and any explanation why I can only read one of the notepads ,the other 3 look like jibberish.what do I do from here , I am lost since I cannot read the instructions.thanks guys ,you are all awsome and you made my day.

The tools folder is for compressing ISO's. You dont need that on your psp. The package is set up to be drag and drop. Once you do that go to game menu boot devhook with the settings you want and it starts 2.71. Use this for settings
UMD SELECT - The iso you want, or UMD DISC if your booting a umd
UMD MOUNT - ISO ANYUMD
UMD VERSION - 2.XX --> 2.00
FIRMWARE - 2.71
CPU CLOCK - 222
BOOT SELECT reboot XMB
And that should about cover it.

this is so cool having any firmaware temporarily! I broke my psp analog stick but I ordered one for $25 from ebay.In order to control the arrow on the web explorer screen I assume you need to use the nalog as a mouse to move the arrow, when I use the directional pad to control the arrow the arraw jumps all about the screen.I hope it works when I put my new analog assembly in.thanks for eeverything.I am new to afterdawn but for years I have been coming here to find all the answers to my technical needs and questions.Afterdawn Rocks!thanks again , your fellow Jr. member...Ant
