When I play music on my laptop through ether itunes or windows mediaplayer of realplayer or any program the volume changes. When a quiet part of a track comes on the volume will rise alot so i will have to turn it down. And when a loud part of a track comes on the volume will lower so I will have to turn it up. What is that about?

its probably due to the auto correct feature in itunes. go to:

edie -> preferences -> playback

then un-check the box that says "soundcheck"

hope that helps.
