backup game problems

i have a flip top and swap magic 3.6 for ps2. I burn a game useing DVD Decrypter and using sony DVD+R. Here is my problem: I put swap magic in and it tells me to load backup game so i did. Then my ps2 tells me it is not a ps2 game? can someone help. Thanks

Sounds like the flip top isn't installed properly? The most common problem when this happens is that instead of blocking the sensors so that the console doesn't know the lid has been opened, one of them isn't covered up properly, so the console knows the lid/tray has been opened, and checks for the security ID thing on the disc again when you put your backup into the console.

Check to make sure you've installed the fliptop properly, also, what were the steps you took to swap your backup?

i'll check on the installing but i did not have good instructions.
the steps:
1. Copy a game
2. put in my swap disk
3. the screen came up as Load Program.
4. i put in back up disk.

that sounds right to me... I know this is going to sound like a stupid question, but you used the fliptop lid instead of pushing the button to eject the tray when you swapped the discs right?

ok. when i put swap disk in load program pop up, then i put in my back up disk, push x and then in blue writing not a valid ps2 disc.
I don't know where i went wrong.

you'll want to be careful with those multiple replies, mods don't like them, use the edit button instead :)
Put your DVD in your DVD writer on your PC, open up DVD Decrypter, and on the right hand side there's a list of information about your burner and disc, what's the Disc ID there? If you are not sure what I'm talking about, have a look here: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/353503 , look at the second picture, and in the right about half way down it says "Disc ID: YUDEN..." <- this thing

ok if that's your disc ID then it's definitely not a Sony DVD+R, and most likely a fake, which would be my guess as to why your backup doesn't load... try some better media and see if it works, also make sure to burn at half the rated speed (my suggestion is get some Taiyo Yuden, Ritek or Verbatim DVD-R 8x, and burn at 4x)
