I recently purchased a Sony DVP-NS75H DVD Player which up converts to 1080i extremely well. The problem: the player would begin to skip and freeze the video and sound, play correctly for a while and start again. I have 2 other Sony and 3 Panasonic DVD players that all play my ?backed up? DVD's without problem. I returned the Sony and purchased the Panasonic DVD-S52 which plays the DVD's, but the up convert is poor quality. In fact, I can't tell any difference comparing it to my old players. Question: Did I just receive a bad Sony player, or does it have problems with DVD+R, -R, etc. Sony claims it is capable of reading all media.
