I'm just wonderin whether its possible to downgrade psp? Can I play isos w/ this?
i DON'T have psp yet but I wanna buy one and I wanna white one! lol!
Y! Coz its way cooler lookin except that's its chuck full of crap!!!
But anyways I'd like to hear your input.

It depends which firmware it has.

Check the FAQs there was a section that told you how to tell the firmware from the label on the PSP Box.

All firmware 2.00 PSPs can be downgraded

Firmware 2.01 can be upgraded to 2.5 and then downgraded

Firmware 2.5 and 2.6 can be downgraded (provided that it doesn't hav a certain motherboard version , i think it was TA-082A, and it is not a factory 2.5/2.6)

Well i think hes referring to the new white psps they are going to start distibuting. If thats the case then its doubtful as they will probably come stock with the highest firmware availabe.

No I think I'm reffering to old white psps! I live in somewhat provincial town even the old black psp are selling fast enough. So what probably is the oldest version of a white psp?
Can it play iso if I am able to downgrade it?
Do I need to purchase GTA?

If you downgrade to firmware 1.5 you will be able to play ISOs.

You only need a UMD of GTA to downgrade 2.5/2.6

well white psps in the uk are shipped with 2.6 (i believe)

you could be lucky and find that they dont have the TA-082 motherboard
but you might not be

if there japanese imports they could be anything from 2.0 upwards

and yes you will need to purchase a "unpatched" version of GTA

Umm check one of Hexitnow's posts to find if the UMD is patched or not. Use the search.

To find out if it has the TA-082 motherboard, check this pic:
