Can u play movies (Mpeg 4) on Psp 2.6?

I recently got Tomb Raider for Psp & it requiers a 2.6 firmware update...I have 2.01 at present. My question is: "Can u still play movies on 2.6/2.5 (converted initialy with PSPVideo9) the same as al the other firmware versions???

I believe you can. Have you considered upgrading to 2.6 then using the downdater to downgrade to 1.50, your psp should be fine as it's not a factory 2.5/2.6.

Yes you can. Along with a few other video formats also. But If you wanna go all techy style you can upgrade then downgrade it to 1.5. Being able to run 1.5 allows you to run homebrews and emulate the 2.6 firmware. Which in return allows you to run 2.6 games. It is up to you on what you want to do. But if u have questions about downgrading or homebrew you know where to post it :)

I'm not the best ever in this field...psp downgrading... 'cause i don't really have much time to deal with this...And I've heard loads of rumors from various!! that u can brick your psp with the wrong down-grader...So that's the reason I'm asking silly questions like this one....

There have only been problems with factory 2.5/2.6 psps and ones with the TA-082 mobo, and as yours is a 2.01 it should be fine. Obviously there is always a slight risk but as long as you follow the instructions to the letter you should be fine.
Here's a tut on downgrading, have a look. If you decide to do it, there's plenty of people here to help you and you'll be able to enjoy playing back up games!!!!
