I have borrowed a few movies that are backups of originals, and when I try to just "copy dvd" I always get a Coaster. What is the problem here?
Obviously I don't need to decrypt the dvd, what else is there to do???

Ask to get those originels ;)
Does those backup-dvd`s work on dvd-player/pc?
Copy them to your hard drive before you burn them.

To add to what OneMember said, it will work best if you rip the disc to your HDD before burning. Try ripping in ISO mode with DVD Decrypter and burn that image.

Always use good quality blank media. Verbatim is always a good call. Don't be seduced by those 50-spindles you find in the $2.99 bin at your local car wash! :)

@rab48124, Its not up to you to decide if "piracy" or anything illegal has occurred, you must report it to a mod who will make that decision.
@duranfan , This can be done quite simply by using Nero Recode, use good media like Verbatim or Sony (made in japan) and burn at around 4X.
Try to avoid any discs made by CMC Mag, especially memorex.

I in fact dont care if he does it legal or not, but others point it out so I thought I would point it out. Your very correct , and I won't do it in the future.
