Sorry if this is posted somewhere but i work more with my ps2 than my psp and i probably have tons of noobish questions that i cannot find the positive answer for on the forums.
I have the newest firmware ( i think)2.6 and I do from time to time use the browser i suppose. (also i do not know if metal gear solid comic will upgrade me to somehitng else like 2.7) Im thinking of getting a 4 gig sandisk ultra to start putting media on and games (iso). But apparently there is never a way to do it with the newest firmware with any current loaders. Correct me if im wron gon any of this.
Anyway If i can and If i do downgrade. Is it an actual downgrade in the terms that I will lose all rthe capabilities i have now or is it just a trick to the psp that makes it think it is downgraded, yet it retains all capability. And If i do this will this not allow me to play retail or just other iso of a newer game because the firmware is not up to date? You know since all games force you to update before you play them.

Sorry for all of this nonsense.

you downgrade your 2.60 to 1.50 and trick it back up to 2.60. This will give you all the advantages of 2.60 and all the advantages of 1.50 together. You'll be able to run ISOs. That's why everyone wants this. That and the ability to run UMDs requiring 2.60 updates w/o actually upgrading... Aside from the fact that you can jump between 1.50 and 2.60 as often as you want. w/ the FW updates, once you update, you can't really ever go back, but things are changing... It's great!

so for someone like me who will wish to play the newest htings right away or whatever should i wait to play around with my psp. Cause as of now i have a disk tha tithink will update me to 2.7
And I do not think i will be able to load anymore ISOs if I
downgrade to 1.5 then upgrade back o 2.6 then try to play the 2.7 umd.
Also i fear having a psp that can be used to build the last of the "three little pigs'" house. Many innocent people would die if that happened.

Dude, WTF are you talking about The Three Little Pigs for? I have no idea what you mean by that reference. Anyway, I have an idea:

If you wanna run a 2.70 game on your PSP, rip it to ISO, change the PRX files out w/ PRX files from a 2.60 game or even a 2.50, just like we did w/ DevHook v0.42a. (Playing 2.60 games on a v1.50 PSP required 2.50 PRX files. In this case, to play a 2.70 on a v1.50 PSP you may need 2.60 PRX files or 2.50 PRX files, w/e.)

Just downgrade your 2.60 to 1.50. There is nothing the higher FWs can do that v1.50 either can't do or won't be able to do...
