Nero copy just seems to write a DVD+R format onto the DVD=r disk. Tried using DVD Shrink to "encrpt" DVD+R disk and let Nero automatically burn to a DVD-R disk and that seems to work but...

Its long winded and I am converting a lot of VCR tapes to a DVD+ Recorder. Is there a simpler way to convert +r to =R ? Can'tr seen in Nero any config setup to tell it to do that.

Any advice appreciated and apologies if this is a double post

DVD+R and DVD-R are DVD DISKS. Nero cannot convert physical anything. These are the way that these are made. Not a video format.

Copy disc to disc in Nero should work well. +R media can hold some megs less but as you are from + to - that shouldn't be a problem.

WTF... You cant use any HTML tags in here...

Thats what I thought.

Of course I meant copying an image from a DVD+R disk to a DVD-R disk so that it will play on a -r DVD player. When I did this using Nero disk copy it still wouldn't play on my Sony Cinema system (-r only...thanks Sony!) When I did a DVD Shrink capture and burnt to a DVD-R, using Nero, its plays fine. But is long winded. I can only assume that there is some sort of default setting in one of the programs that tells it is is burning to a DVD-R. I can't see anything in Nero to change this. I have two Pioneer Burners a 111D and a 109. Both multi format so they don't care and will do what they are told

There is a difference between how a DVD+R and -r disk images are written or "formatted" isn't there ? I presume this difference is encoded in the leader so the reader/burner knows what kind of image is there. I'm impressed that a "+r" written image appears to be written to a -r disk and "fools" my DVD player that its still a +r disk as this makes me wonder what the difference really is on the media!

Sorry for the verbal waterfall but it would seem such a simple problem...
