Hookboot into ISO?

Hi All,
Sorry to be a nuicance, but I've got some of the old style hookboot games, and thought i'd be easier to organise etc if I could turn them into ISO's, I've heard someone say it's possible, but can't for the life of me find any info on doing it.. I know it'd prob be UMDGen, but need to know the files I'd need to encorporate etc... Any help on this would be apprec.

Well I'm not exactly familiar with Hookboot ISOs.
But I think I can figure it out if you gave the directory structure of your memory stick.

sorry guys but im unfamilliar with 'hookboot isos' what are they and do they have advantages over standard iso's thanks :)

OK, first download and install PBP Unpacker from here: http://www.pdc.me.uk/pbpunpacker.php?
Then download the SEI PSP Tool and convert the homebrew to 1.0 format
Then run it and open EBOOT.PBP you converted. Then extract the data.psp file from it.
Make two copies of the data.psp file. Then rename one to BOOT.BIN and the other to EBOOT.BIN
Place both the EBOOT.BIN and BOOT.BIN into the SYSDIR directory.
Rename the ???_GAME folder (with SYSDIR and the other stuff inside) to PSP_GAME.
Then get UMDGen (from the downloads/utils section of www.psp-hacks.com) and drag and drop the PSP_GAME folder into it, and save as an ISO.
Thats it!

Thanks for that, I'll give it a try... I had a quick look inside other ISO's I've got, and one of the things I was concerned about is that they've all got UMD_data.bin files in the root? Is this anything I should know about, or should I just forget about it?

No you dont necessarily need the UMD_DATA.BIN file. But if it turns out you do need one, I will upload one from my ISOs for you.
@hodgins- Yeah, you can load hookboot ISOS directly from the VSH.

It provides this DATA on the UMD:
Quote:
Gamecode, unique disk id, number of disks
But its just info on the UMD, it doesn't affect the running of the ISO.

Yeah, and you can only do this for 1.5 ISOs, not the new 2.00+ ones. So its not that good.
Now, if only there was a way to autorun an ISO after botting my PSP....

Well, when they manage to perfect a custom firmware for 1.0 (epsilon bios springs to mind), then maybe you could autoexec an iso... lol...

I think that the 1.5 downgrader is safe tho...
Come to think of it, I haven't heard about any tests of the 1.5 downgrader only the 2.6 one.

@ wizborg and eternal: didnt they just realease a "easy" 1.5-->1.0 downgrader. the only reason i aint done it yet is because theres not much on 1.0 yet, hope someone creates an uber custom fw

Me neither, I downgraded from 2.5, so I know thats safe.. It could be cos ppl want to stay at 1.5 lol.. But then 1.0 maybe the only way to go for TA-082 Mobo peeps, unless they wait for custom firmare..
I'm just trying to sonvert an ISO now, I'll let u know if it works.. If I can get my psp back from my daughter... lol
Yeah, it's all over the net.. Xtrusion and Dark_Alex make a mean combination, not to mention Fanjita...

i dont think ta-082 mobo ppl can do anything, no modhip, no downgrader. man that must be annoying!

I've heard that the chip blocks 1.5, but it may allow 1.0, so if they were to create a 2.5/6 > 1.0, it may work...
