AC adapter- does it need to be turned on when downgrading 2.6 to 1.5

does the AC adapter actually need to be turned on at the switch when downgrading from 2.6 to 1.5?

The downgrader program requires you to have the AC adaptor plugged in and turned on as if your battery failed for some reason during the downgrade your PSP would brick.

No you dont have to if you dont want to. I recommend downgrading as it allows you to take full adavantage of PSP Homebrew. This includes running ISOs. Firmware 1.5 can also emulate 2.6 (and soon 2.7) so you wont be loosing any features.

To downgrade download the "Easy Downgrader" by Xtrusion from http://www.psp-hacks.com

BTW Not all PSPs are downgradeable. Is your PSP a factory 2.6. If it is you can't downgrade. You also cant downgrade if you have a TA-082 motherboard.
