I have an ISO for my PSP that is 1.49GB. When compressed to CSO using PSP ISO Compressor, it compresses to 1.19GB only. However, I have another ISO that is 1.6GB and it compressed to 758MB. Makes me a bit confused. How can I get the ISO to compress smaller?

Use a rip kit on the ISO, this will remove all the unnecessary junk. If you tell me which ISO, I will get a rip kit for you.

Got this info from maxconsole:- Quote: u cant rip initial d because it has LBA, if u take one file out the game will not work. use CISO to make it under 600mb. u need 1 gb memory stick. that the best we can do for this game.
So I guess you'll have to CISO it using compression level 9.

I haven't got it myself so I can't have a look to see. 600mb isn't so bad anyway.

when it comes to files, some stuff compresses better than others.
For instance zip up some txt files, or a wav.
Youll get nice compression.
Try compressing an mp3.
Its already compressed so you wont get much.
Ive had ps2 games 300mb unzip to 3gb. Full of garbage and fake lba settings.
Normally whatever it was when it was zipped/rarred is just a bit less than cso will get it to.
ripkits just remove parts of the game like intros and music entirely.

Yea, that's what kinda sucks. Somtimes, the bigger the file, the bigger compression rate you will get. Midnight Club went from 1.20GB to 605MB in one fell swoop w/ the CiSO converter.
However on teh other side of things, I used the CiSO converter to shrink Street Supremacy from 483MB and only lost 10MB off of the total size. Weird.

Is that true? I haven't really messed w/ enough ISOs to know... However, I had Initial D and it was like 1.60GB Full. It came as a RAR file @ 300 some odd Megabytes. Are you saying CiSO (referring to average results) would most likely compress 1.60GB to 300MB. I don't know if that's such a good rule of thumb. Not sure on that one... You may be right in most cases tho. Let's the pros.

Rename the ISO to "original" then run the batch file and that's it, it'll do the rest. When its done, CISO it at compression level 9 and you'll have a 750mb file.
