2.71 shonky repair

i sent my psp in for a repair on a broken screen when i got it back it had been upgraded to 2.6 the disc tray wouldn't close properly and the screen had an "inactive pixel" after arguing with the sony rep for a while they agreed to repair the screen and then they told me that my psp will come back this time as 2.71 what should i do?

buy parts and repair it yourself is an option :). or if you dont run homebrew go get a 2.71
|

i have already downgraded to 1.5 and i run heaps of homebrew but its not only the screen that needs reparing the disc tray is fucked aswell is there anywhere i could get a new flash chip or should i preorder an undiluted platinum

Once you send it to Sony they will upgrade it to 2.71...and repairing it your self will cost a fortune.
Repairing yourself:
LCD Screen 45 dollars
New UMD case 30 dollars
75 dollars
Sending it to Sony:
UP Modchip 100 dollars
100 dollars
So it cost's about the same...

Undiluted Platinum is a good choice.. But still... Dont you need the UMD tray for anything?

it still loads UMD's it just sits slightly ajar at one side i'm just more pissed off that its 2.71

i say ask hexitnow if he has any parts, he has good prices
u can get an lcd off ebay for bout 40 with shipping
i had a simular problem with my umd tray and i bent it back into shape with my hands, now thw botom is a little loose but it closes perfectly at the top.

The Undiluted Platinum is the only modchip available at this moment.
The second option would be another motherboard, but those are a bit harder to find, especially the 1.50 ones.

wen will we get a bloody downgrader for the 2.71???
i have 3 psp`s that r running on 2.71, and only have 2 on 1.5, :(
and im ganna sell both of the 1.5 psp`s for $250 each and 1 of the 2.71`s for $225
ill only have 2 psp`s left and both of them running @ 2.71 (no homebrew)
