Does anyone have a laptop with this graphics card in it? I was just curious how good this performs for playing games and some graphic demanding applications? Thanks!

Forget performance. GMA950 won't even run most high end games and some low end ones too. Get a video card.

It would be pointless to try to upgrade to graphics card on a laptop because you just can't do it. Find a laptop with a good video card if you need one.

here's something i found

"Some new high performance laptop and portable computer manufacturers are coming out with models that enable users to upgrade the video card or video accelerator it came shipped with. Unless your laptop or portable computer is one of these types of laptops or portable computers you will not be able to upgrade your video card.

If you are unsure if your laptop or portable computer is this type of computer it is recommended you contact the laptop manufacturer for additional information."

If you can try to find a laptop with X700 graphics or better. GeForceGo 6600 is even better.

Radeon Xpress 200 you are still not getting much better. Try to get one that actually says radeon X700 or GeForce Go 6600 because there is only one way to say the name of a certain video card. Just Radeon Graphics to me suggests integrated radeon Xpress 200 which will get you by on Starwars Battlefront 1 and not much else.

Ok
I'm about to purchase a Dell Laptop right...an inspiron 6400, an i'm limited by price, the max is about $900
the choice is between intel gma 950 and 128 Radeon x1300
*(the ATI wud cost an additional 100)*
i Just want a graphics card that can play sims 2 and a few other games,

Shud i just stick with the GMA?, if i do then i'd be able to put bluetooth and upgrade the screen to truelife
P.S
i in no way expect to play doom 3 or f.e.a.r (as much as i'd really like to) no heavy gaming

Also if some1 could give me a basic list of games i'd be able to play with the gma.......It'd be really helpful
Thank You

GMA: Half-Life 1
Starwars Battlefront 1
Command and Conquer Red Alert 1 & 2
Pretty Much anything before 2003 should run very well. And maybe some low-end titles after that.

The X1300 will play Half-Life 2 okayish and you won't get very good performance at all on Sims 2 with the GMA. In my opinion go for the X1300 and forget bluetooth unless you can actually use it.

That should work quite well actually for most casual gaming. Sims 2, GTA, UT'03/'04. Loads of other stuff.

It should. Just turn down the resolution to 800 x 600 and turn down the detail to medium and it should run fine.

No Take it this way You know the game Grand Prix 4 one of the most famous F1 games it came in 02 my fave F1 game when modded right ive tried to run the non modded version on the GMA it will run it great on medium but on high everything and advnaced lighting you wont get past 17-fps you cant even think about the modded version
thats the Unmodded version running at Max a GMA wont give you any lighting on that helmet because it dosent have T&L and without T&L nearly every GPU strugles to render in T&L with software render.SOftware render is garbage compared to Hardware Rendering T&L now this is the modded one:
http://www.racesimulations.com/GP4/scree...0689/dateD.html
WIth a GMA you cant even touch what that image looks like thats what my Radeon X1900XTX runs it like and I will gurantee you its a Gameplay image NIce??

So now you see what a GMA is comparing to a X1900XTX its fair because the X1900XTX is one of the top cards out while the 950 is a low one so it shows you

I recommend GP4 with the 2006 GP Italia Mod:Try it!
