My PSP will not see my .MP4 file !!!

I've been experimenting with my new PSP for a couple of days now and i love the little beast but one thing is bothering me, I can't get it to see video files.

I've managed to use handbrake on my mac (Dual 2ghz G5) to convert a DVD to an MP4 file. When i place it in the MP_ROOT/100MNV01 folder my PSP it's telling me there are no videos. I know there is a video because i can watch the bloody thing on my mac using quicktime.

Can some one please enlighten me otherwise i might just smash it with a hammer !!!

put that hammer away! lol.the videos need to be called something specific you see. do a google search on psp video 9, download the software and that will take care of things for you

Yeah you have to rename the MP4 to something like: M4V31337.MP4 (then you can change the last few digits if you decide to put more videos on).

Sorry to be a pain but i'm stuck again.

I got on my PC and downloaded PSP Video 9, all was going well until i found out that the sound was out of sync. I went through the forums for answers but all the information about encoding and stuff just baffled me.

I thought i'd found a solution in WinAVI iPod/PSP/3GP/MP4 converter but there is one thing bothering me. When i used PSP video 9 the video on my PSP had a title (the same as the file i had converted) but with WinAVI it doesn't.

I did some messing around and found out that the files are tagged like mp3's. Is there a way of changing the tag of an MP4 file so that a name is displayed on my PSP ?

There is software that can name MPEG 4 files and it is also a video to MPEG 4 converter.

Google PSP Movie Creator, download it and install it. Put the MPEG 4
videos you want to rename on your PSP then connect your PSP to your PC. Open PSP Movie Creator and click on "PSP Video Transfer" (at the top). If it doesn't already show the videos that are on your PSP, click "Detect PSP Connection". Click on the video that you want to rename and at the bottom it will say "Title:", type in what you want the title to be and click "Change Video Title"

I now have video on my PSP with correct sound sync and a proper title.
