about 3.9gb but i think its the speed i burn it at. When i use DVD Decrypter ISO write, i set the speed to 8 but it only writes at 1.5 which i think is to slow for swapmagic to boot. How do i fix this? Also the dicses i use are Sony 8x -/+ Ive always used them and the always work.

Reboot, defrag and turn off everything else when you're burning. Since you say you're using 8x discs, set DVD Decrypter to burn at 4x.
If it still won't boot, it may still need a rebuild.

The speed you can burn at is determined by the disc primarily, and your burner's capabilities. So you can't force a program to burn faster than the disc (or burner) will allow. Perhaps you should switch to different media?

Ive burned faster with these discs before and they work. Also while its writing the buffer is at zero what does this mean?

i would recommend you to burn at half of the speed of the media, so if the DVDR-r is 8 x burn at 4x, and so on, and if it does not work then change the media

Im not focusing on burning because every time i set it to a speed whether it be 2.4, 4, 6 , 8 speeds, the buffer decreses to 0 and it writes between 1 and 1.5 (too slow). Im trying to fix the speed it burns at. I mean, it does burn sucessfully but it just shows a black screen when i boot with swapmagic.

you should start with paddy's checklist http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/288475 and take note of the section about enabling DMA mode for your drive. Like the guys say, run a defrag and even check your hard disc for errors. Never hurts to do this frequntly, especialy if your creating and deleting huge files like ps2 iso's.

I take it you use windows xp, Start menu> All programmes> Accsesories> System tools> Disc defragmenter. Turn off all other apps first and expect to wait a couple of hours depending on the size of your hard drive.

That doesnt sound good, You should allways take note of those error messages, take a screen shot or write them down.
Try this (another long process) Click my computer> right click Local disk> select properties and then click the tools tab, select "error checking" and follow the prompts to schedule a check on the next start up, Reboot and walk away till its done. After this you can try defrag again. If it says "the file system is FAT32" then you should really consider changing over to NTFS, FAT32 is long obsolete and sux for handling ps2 games it can be converted with a simple dos command, just ask if you need to.

Try another media disc.

I use TDK DVD R-. however, like some say , the game might need rebuilding.

Like I said before, UNINSTALL DVD Decrypter, Reboot, Re-Install DVD Decrypter.

ok, ive fixed the buffer speed, its writing good now. I set it to 8 it burned 7.3 MAX and 4.4 for average. No errors, just a black screen when i used swapmagic to boot. It doesnt do anything. By the way im from New Zealand where can i buy TDKs. I may have to change the media. Unless i dpwnload a boot disk off the interne. Any ideas? or suggestions?

Dont buy TDK's in NZ, their rubbish, I mostly get mitsubishi from dick smiths and have no probs, You should burn no faster than 4x and use 8x discs.
What were you using?
