Naw bro this is Hex's PSP, he wants my Brick+$20 for it, and i'm going for it. I can afford to lose a Brick and 20$ for a 1.50 PSP. Plus he lives close so if there's something awry, i'll know about it. Yeah i've never bought off ebay either I buy off Amazon, it's more trustable.

ebay is not tobad...i bought i a airsoft gun and psp joysticks there....u have to look at what there selling and look at there feedbak.......you'll kno a scam when it says 20 psp's for 20 buks

How about this....
sony has pretty much patched up everything about the game menu but what if we write some code, put in in a movie file or somthing, and try and boot a UMD update like the ones on the newer games.
actually thats a pretty $hitty idea. it probably would never work

hey kaz, sorry about your psp :'(. Anyway, im gonna update you guys on my progress so far before i go to the arctic for a few weeks. I had read something similar to what the user posted about the overflow. THIS IS NOT A PHOTO EXPLOIT! THAT IS USELESS. The swf file is supposed to cause a buffer overflow with the text. Simplifyed:
i have 900 letters of text in my documant and a decrypted 1.5 firmware and an app, but the psp cant take more than, lets say 899, so it freaks out. Then, the installer can run from the psp and downgrade.
thats what i am trying. however, making eboots is not my specialty. I cant program psp apps. (eboots, prx's) I think thatin a few weeks i will give you guys the text reader, just to try. The reason i havent done so already is because im away from my computer. Im sorry about this.if anyone else has made any progress, id love to hear it.
(please, no fake downgraders. Ive seen the memory card swap thing and i can say that is bs.)

Hey anatomic mebbe you could PM me the text reader prototype and I could get to work on it? I think the tiff text will run as long as h.bin and index.dat are in the root. The problem is if we buffer overflow the BROWSER, it'll just get not enough memory. if we buffer overflow the actual PSP through the browser which is much more difficult, we'll have a 1.5 on our hands, which I might have soon anyway. BTW Sony isn't going to refurbish mine back to 1.0 they said that it might be a 1.5 (they said most likely but I don't believe them) so I think i'm going to cancel my order and buy hex's.

Nevermind I'm sending it to Sony tomorrow. If I don't get a 1.50 back, which I might not, although the guy sounded assuring to me, I can just brick it again because there's a 90-day warranty. Bricking can be useful eh?

LOL you guys wish. If you brick your psp, Sony will know you were screwing around with homebrew that they did not endorse. How else in hell would you brick a psp? The bs excuse of it bricking your psp during an upgrade wont get you very far either. Sony might now be able to stop all the current mods available for the psp, but they are not stupid enough to believe that your psp bricked using it under normal circumstances.

Not true what?? If you got away with it consider yourself lucky....use common sense, Sony wont give you a psp because your noob self bricked it. Disagree with me all you want, you got lucky, thats all. Any moron thats bricks their psp doesnt deserve a new one either, you deserve to be screwed if you dont know what you are doing.
