First thing I would do is scan for malware. Run Ad Aware and Spybot S&D. Do you currently have an AV running? Is it up to date? When was the last complete scan?

Do you have filters on all of the other phones/POTS devices? Are you using the most current drivers for your NIC?

Try a new Cat5 cable and a new phone line. Could be a faulty line somewhere, although this doesnt really fit the symptoms.

bro listen to the first respnce,it could be yoru firewall...ake sure that it's allowing access to your internet...i personally never had this problem,i'm with xtra from nz,and i use zonelarm for my firewall, and my net works fine, but yours might somehow disable the internet, you should check taht everything si working fine and that the net is allowed...

found malware/adware can this damage your computer and how long would it take to completely kill windows?

Get rid of the adaware/malware and see if that makes a difference. There isn't a setting in your router that stops internet access after a prescribed time is there? My router DLink has the function of only allowing access between certain times etc....
