Hi there,

Ok I am having problems getting my ripped dvds sound and pictures to be in sync when in MP4 format for the psp.

Here is what i do.. please tell me if i am doing something wrong.

I rip the dvd using dvd decrpter (i select the appropriate audio track via teh stream processing option so as to avoid getting video commentary instead or something)

I then use "imtoopspconverter" to convert the VOB file to mp4 (I prefer this software because the conversion file is smaller than pspvideo9 and others)

I then name the file accordingly (m4v000...blah blah)and it plays; only the sound is not in sync..... sometimes!!

I think the problem is to do with the dvds themselves, i.e. dvds with 5.1 sound appear not to sync (they show up as 6channel audio tracks on stream processing function on decrypter) but when i try dvds with 2.0 track (2 channel tracks on the decrpter) the sound and picture ARE in time.

Can anyone think of how i can fix this? is there anyway to convert 6channel audio stream to 2channel for example?

I am sorry this is so long but i really can't be the only one who has come across this problem.

Thanks everyone - please help!

James

If you can change the frame rate on the programs then make it higher and also try increasing the picture quality for the converter as sometimes this can affect it in this way. If this doesn't work, try using psp video express as it is free and works well. It plays the video and records it into the psp format as it goes along so there should never really be a problem with sound being out of sync on this unless the video which it's recording from is out of sync. The file sizes are not too big either unless you have the quality set right up which is not really necessary.

To address this problem directly you can use Virtual Dub to re-sync the audio and video : http://www.virtualdub.org/
