Aaaah finally I get to play SF as an iso, damn I love it, still need to get used to the gameplay though, thx guano looks like all I needed was the ripkit afterall. I wonder after this game if I'll even bother with Splinter Cell. I guess I would like to see how they both compare.

You should bother w/ Splinter Cell. It's another one of the greatest releases...

Is their a ripkit for that game that's under a gig that doesn't have any audio or text ripped out of it?

I know there were a couple when it was first able to run on Devhook but those had some stuff ripped out of it.

Just do a manual rip. Then you can rip out EXACTLY what you want...

so.... That's 155 percent. Assuming there's 200% in this equation, what happened to the other 45%??? I'm lost on this...

About your question:

I had it at like 660MB at one point. Didn't work that well; kept freezing. However, it might actually work now w/ DevHook v0.44. No need to swap PRX files anymore. Give it a try...

Gggrrrhhh.. So sad to report that I didn't manage to fix the folder thingy.. Got the files (thanks, Guano..), checked things out carefully, examined things carefully with a little bit of hex editing, the files seem good, packed them up into iso and then tried to load it up through DevHook 0.45 (usb port connection). The loading got past the PSP gameboot screen, then black screen with a little (still, not spinning or whatsoever) disk icon at lower right corner.. That's it.. Ggggrrrhh.. But can exit back to XMB through Home button, though..

Anyone has any idea what is still needed or must be checked out and fixed? The PRX are already swapped with working ones, too when it is in the folder thingy, I think..

I thought we were all set now w/ having DevHook v0.44. (won't use v0.45 yet) Thought we had it made.

HOWEVER - I recommend using VcdromX to rebuild your ISO. I HOPE you used UMDGen so this will fix it. No need to change out PRX files anymore, btw.

Yea, I just got Miami Vice. Ripped it and then recompiled the ISO w/ UMDGen and it wouldn't work. (4 diff times) I thought I had to swap out the PRX files, but b4 I did that, I recompiled w/ VcdromX and it worked.

Just try rebuilding w/ that and I guarantee it will work.

Peace,
guano

btw, if you need a tutorial and a link, I think I got both.

Hey, thanks for the tips, Guano. Will seek out VcdromX, try iso it again (for, the love of god, N times already..), but this time with VcdromX. I have been using UMDGen. Wait a sec, I have not try iso it with UMDGen with 'optional path info' option off (or on, whichever that is not default..).. Hmm.. I will try iso it with VcdromX like you suggest and then experiment a couple more times before I give up.. Ggggrrrhhh..

Hi,

Sigh.. Got hold of VCDRomX (ver 4.5), used it to give it a go, the process seems fairly simple enough and in minutes generated the iso. Tested the iso the usual DevHook 0.45 USB port approach.. No luck, same idling loading screen with a still disc icon on the lower right.. Any special setting to be checked? Volume label, perhaps..?

Tried iso it again with UMDGen with the 'optional path info' thingy checked, and again, no luck..

Or perhaps, it doesn't work with DeveHook but only DAZISO loader or some other loaders..?

Accordingly to my inspection, apparently the original folder thingy is a ripped one, with some video files replaced with the PSP gameboot pmf, conveniently bringing the size down to under 1GB. I wonder if that could be the reason. Does the game check the LBA..?

I am giving up.. Ggggrrrhhhh..

Others who have success with this, any idea what I might have not done right?
