Im having trouble with it online, and just running it, it seems like it runs as long as you keep playing b ut if you let it sit for a minute itll reset and be an invalid ps2 disc. Is this some kind of screensaver or is there a patch or anything to fix it, or to go online.

Nope, you can't take this game online unless you have a retail copy.

Sounds like a bad burn or bad media. PS2 games don't use screensavers! lol.

Try reburning, and use good media.

do you have any personal experiance with the game, the thing socom does it, it will stop the disc completley then begen to reread, which is why i believe the game is rebooting the laser and readin*dvd-r* and sending me to the red screen of death(non ps2 disc screen)

you can only go ONLINE with socom 3 PAL not the NTSC version.
if you are using a PAL copy you need to patch the game with dnas patch.go to the top of the the first page and go into PAL dnas codes or something like that

Did you try re-burning it to a quality DVD (Sony, TY, Verbatim) and burning it at half the media's rated speed? It COULD be the DVD you used to burn the game. I'd try that, because if you switch an NTSC game to PAL and use a NTSC TV, then you'd have a scrolling image to play with.
Oh yeah, you'd have to have a PAL version anyway to play online with a backup. You can't convert a NTSC .iso to a PAL .iso.. Even if you used NTSC2PAL it still wouldn't make it a PAL game, it would just display your NTSC game in PAL standards.

ok you keep telling me to reburn but do you have PERSONAL experience with the game. Cause Im pr etty sure my burn is pefect and that socom has a lot of security and boot tricks to keep people from playing it period. Although it also comes up with a youve been caught cheating or using a cheating device, Ive never cheated.....Maybe if i am not connected to the internet it wont be able to detect that. Or I need to erase all the files off my memory card and start over... Ill let you know what happens. right now i must get down on some more driver parralell*spelling* lines.

bjg123kid; Will you stop questioning people who try to help you, or nobody will want to help you anymore or ever again! I've got over 1000 PS2 backups, so I'd be prettttttty sure that Socom 3 is in there somewhere, wouldn't you?

The game should NOT reset itself to the PS2 browser if it's been burnt correctly on good quality media.
And the reason you get that cheat message with your backup is because it detects that you're using a patched backup.
Only the PAL version can go online with a backup, but you need a PAL PS2 or have changed the Internal Machine ID of your NTSC PS2 to a PAL ID to get online. And you would need to download or buy the PAL version as well.

Well I fixed my problem by deleting the saves. Since I already started the game the auto login shit was there and it was causing the problem, also. socom does use a screen saver....you dont touch it for a few, the screen gets a little dimmer and the disk stops spinnin. I was rigth to question you and not go and waste another disc. Just like any person with a little of something, they want it to work out and not waste anymore than they have to. thanks to all that helped
