i have a laptop, but the battery is terrible. it cant seem to go for an hour before it dies. so do you think there is a way to fix that without buying a new battery. i dont want it to turn into a desktop with a crapy keyboard.

To achieve optimal battery performance, you may need to do a battery calibration at a 3-month interval. To do this:

1. Fully charge the battery.
2. Then discharge the battery by entering the BIOS setup screen. (Press F2 key as soon as you turn on your computer. And let it remain at the setup screen until the battery runs out.
3. Fully charge the battery again.

Edit: typo

it semi worked. in the beggining i couldnt be on for more than an hour at a time without charging it or it would die. after the calibration it did let it last longer but not as long as i would have hoped...i say about 30 min longer, but i also adjusted the brightness and that help alot too.

Well, it's not meant to prolong usage cycles. It is meant to achieve optimal battery life. 30 extra minutes is better than no extra minutes. :D
