Just wanted to know if anyone has up(or is it down)graded to dark_alex's custom firmware, and if it is any good. I did read that Guano is rocking it now, and was wondering if anyone else was. It seems pretty cool, but the phrase "writes to flash" always worries me a tiny bit.

Has anyone installed it and then used the custom firware undoer to return to the original 1.5? Any feedback on this would be awesome.

Oh, and Devhook 0.44.0100 is out at http://www.ps2nfo.com I think it has a few bug fixes but nothing too major.

Peace.

that is almost certainly a fake update to devhook, it was a .rar renamed to .lzh although it has enabled 333mhz wifi (but not 333mhz game booting).

Also, have heard many good things about the custom firmware and there are several who have reflahsed back to clean1.5 and no problems.

i love the disabled autorun UMD option!!!

Um, what did you download dude?

That link on the post "Booster has now updated to PSP Device Hook Sample Launcher v0.44.0100 for those interested!", gives you

PSP_Device_Hook_Sample_Launcher_v0.44.0100.rar

And inside it seemed a pretty legitimate looking devhook update. What did you download? Was it one of the custom firmware mods? I didn't look at any of those, maybe that's what you got?

Disabled Autorun of UMD is very cool, as is the autoboot of 2.71.

you have a repack of the .lzh from the booster site.
someone unzipped it and made a rar for you. the original .lzh on the booster site (which, by the way has been removed now!) was not even a .lzh but a .rar renamed to .lzh to imitate boosters release method...

i believe there is some success from the update (allowigng 333mhz wifi, but NOT booting games into 333) but this is NOT from Booster :) therefore FAKE :)

bu22ard, calm down!

Yes, the POC is awseome, I have flashed my psp, and will not go back. I never again have to open my UMD drive, which is worth the mod itself. Not to mention autoplay with any loader you want, the ability to have auo-usb connectivity, and dump pics, its awesome. This is just the beginning, wait a couple weeks and there will be some truely crazy modules for us:)
