avi file FAR too big!

im new to DVD ripping. I ripped a DVD with AutoGK and the file came out to be 3.50 gigs and now im running through VirtualDub for compression and the size of the file was reduced only to about 2.8 gigs. During the original rip with AutoGK, I used CBR audio at 128, and video quality was set to 85%. This movie also has subtitles being a Russian film. Someone offer some help, please!

Try DVD Shrink its free

then Burn with DVD Decrypter

but either way standard blank DVD's are 4.7 GB so it should fit
