I have a question about the files that appear when a person downloads a game off a website such as www.mininova.org. When i download the game, it comes with lots of files which are all .rar parts (i.e. r12, r13, etc). My question is why are those files there? Because i unRared the only file with just a .rar extension, and it extracted an iso. but when i tried to extract the other files, they were the same iso file! This is probably a very noobish question, but I gotta ask it sometime.
Cheers!

you can't ask about downloaded games, that's called piracy...

for games you own, you just extract ONE file, and that extracts everything from ALL the files automatically

Allright basically I have a question as well. I had a game which I put into the pc. I copied all the files onto the computer and since then the game had gotten scratched up. I have all these unrecogniseable files on my pc that were on the cd but I have no idea how I can make all these files into a one file image file. I have Alcohol 120 and Nero but can only manage to copy the files as they are onto the dvd I have. Could anyone tell me how I can make an image file out of a bunch of files i have stored on my pc.

First question is an easy answer, which you should do a search on sometime, Just search the forums for "Winrar"
That is how you extract them, and you only extract one file, if you watch WinRAR you will see that it extract them all one by one into an ISO file. So yes, each one you do will give you the same ISO file.

Question #2
Post a picture of the files you have. Was it a DVD based game or a CD based game?
Nero Burning Rom can take the files from a DVD based game, and by using the UDF/ISO option can make those files into a working disc.
And since you have not said it, i hope you know that you will need a modded PS2 to play any disc you make. As for a CD Based game i am not sure how to rebuild those, but Nero may be able to handle both types.

Yes my ps2 is chipped. What I'm trying to say is how can I make a dvd image of these files as I'm told burning each file separately to the dvd does not work. I want to know how you can make a dvd image where i can burn the one image file to the dvd.

Steimy just told you how - you use Nero burning rom in udf/iso option and drop ALL the files onto the dvd.. then burn it at 4x the same as you would for an ISO file. There are some tutorials in my sig if you need them.

Thanks for that. I haven't tried it yet but that guide you have there looks fool proof. I don't see anywhere I could possibly go wrong with it as it is very straight forward. Thanks for the effort mate.

By the way, the reason I haven't tried it yet is because of the fact that I am on holiday in America and my ps2 does not seem to power up this side of the pond. I think I need to get a voltage adaptor that changes to electricity from 110v to 220v. Only problem is when I got it, it seemed to work at first with the red light turning on. But when I turned on the ps2 from standby mode, instead of the light staying green (which is the on mode), the light just turned green for a split second, turned off and went back to being red. This process keeps repeating and it does not stay on form more than 1/2 a second. By the way the adaptor I used was 50watts. Do you have any idea what may be wrong and what I can do. Thanks in advance.

I've found transformers to be somewhat unstable, you'll be better off buying a PS2 power if you are going to be there for a while (if you have a slim PS2), not too sure what the power consumption is so I'm not sure if 50w is enough or not, but as a general rule I tend to stay away from transformers...

So basically what is this ps2 power. Also would it be allright if I just opened up the ps2 and changed the fuse I have to another. Would it work if I swapped the fuse with one from an appliance that works here?

do you have an old PS2? Cos when I said that I was referring to the slim PS2's external power supply, the old one has power supply built in and I don't think it's worth trying to fiddle with that... have you tried with a bigger transformer? Also where was the console from?

Yeah I have an old ps2. Bought it about 4 years ago from Asia, it came chipped. So what suggestions are there for me to use it in America. I'm here on holiday and badly want to play it as it can get kind of boring here in the countryside.

if that's the case I'd suggest bringing the console with you to an electronics shop (or even a game shop) to find a good transformer, I'm guessing that's probably your problem there. You could just go and buy another one, but it's safer to bring the console with you to try it out in the shop to make sure it works
