My NCAA doesn't work and i burned it on a TDK disc and at 4x. Should try to write the game at 2x or rebuild it.

I have a swap magic 3.6 and i don't know what an ID for TDK is? Some of my games work great like Resident Evil 4 and SHadow of the Collesus, but some are laggy. This NCAA 07 won't get pass the booting screen and it says "invalid disc". I have Madden 06 which works but it freezes every single play.

Yahoo, it finally works. I did it this time at 1x, but what's the difference between 1x and 2x? They both write or read at around 5,000kb.

it means your DVD burner can't burn at 1x so even if you choose to burn at 1x it's still burning at 2x (or vice versa)

it probably is your media but it might also be your system... i have games that lagged on mine (very first shipment) that i thought it was cause i burned it at too high a speed or something that worked on my friends that hes only had for like 3 months... so you might wanna try cleaning ur system... that might do a little bit

My system is open without it's cover. I recently cleaned my lense and it actually made it worse for Madden 06. This is my first NCAA and it's pretty good and more realistic than the Maddens.

thats weird that it would make it weird... but if cleaning it didnt do anything and if you said open without a cover im assuming its a slim... it probably is just ur media/burning speed i used taiyo yuden and ive never had a problem with lagging burning on those discs at 2x.... supermediastore.com

It's PS2 phat and i keep the cover off and have the disc cover unscrewed ,so i can clean it without the hassle of taking it apart and i don't have to use the slide card. Most games i only try to burn once wheter they work or not i don't try it a 2nd time. Now i give it a second thought because at first NCAA didn't work at all and now it's pratically my best burn. There's probably a bit of slow down on the loading screens, but the original has that problem as well.
I also dropped my system once and power cord came loose and than i had to open the whole thing to snap the ribbon back in place. My system has gone through a beating and i had it since 6 months after launch, so about more than 6 years old.

I have a v.4 that's 5 years old. Leaving your system open is not a good idea, you're going to allow a bunch of dust to get tracked into the DVD Housing and mobo. Definitely not recommended. The only reason I can think that cleaning would make the system worse would be if you were too rough and somehow scratched your laser lens. You'd have to jam a Q tip in there pretty hard to damage it. I clean my PS2 every 6 months or so, the process only takes about 20 minutes.

Well I'm very careful when taking it apart, clean it out with some compressed air, and swab the laser with a Q tip and rubbing alcohol. I still have the DVD housing on mine, so I have to take that off as well. It is much easier to clean with a flip top, slim, or with the DVD housing removed.

I lost all the parts so even if i wanted to put it together i couldn't. The disk tray doesn't eject anymore. I got about 10 more must-play games to try before i'm upgrading to a PS3.
As for the lens part i think it's just the game because some games work fine others are just coasters. Certain genres just play better like games that don't require to load as much. "Sandbox" games are hell like GTA and True Crimes where it freezes.

Dunno still sounds like dodgy media or dirty/damaged laser to me. What's the Media ID of the those TDK's? If your PS2 is on it's last legs crap media could push it over the edge.
91. Q. What is the Media ID of a DVD and how can I find it?
A.The Media ID of a DVD is the true measure of it's quality. It contains prerecorded info about the disc's manufacturer. The quality of the disc will vary depending on the media code. The media code isn't visible on the disc or the packaging. To check the media ID, Open DVD Decrypter, insert your disc, and check what it says under Media ID or Manufacturer ID. You can also use a program called DVD Identifier which is very useful. You can find it here: http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/ Compare the Media ID to this link: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm Huge List of Media ID's (Thanks to DogBomb): http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/155431

I have a problem with getting online with NCAA 07. I injected the DNAS and it makes it through the DNAS verification. Then it wants to use my existing network config and EA profile. After that it wants to verify my account for the first time and when i do that the screen goes black, for about 10 seconds then the perverbial "please insert Playstation 2 disc" red screeen comes on. Do i need to use the original to verify the account then take that out and use the backup. Or am i doing something wrong? does the ripped file need to be rebuilt?? I have been making backups for a loooong time and this is the first time that i have had a problem with getting online.

Hmm, clearly someone didnt look at the rest of this topic, cos someone else had the same problem.
Verify with your original store bought game & that fixes the problem. Also using WinDIP instead of a stolen, buggy dna$ patcher will help you as well. Trust nothing with the name PS2NFO on it, cos it wasn't theirs in the 1st place!
