ok, I noticed this problem after installing Nero so I'm posting this here. I have an HP computer and 2 HP dvd RW drives. When I put a blank dvd into the drive it recognizes it as a cd not a dvd. My drivers are all up to date. Anyone know what the problem could be?

Which version of Nero are you using, go to StartSmart, info tools and it will show your the FULL version.
