Those are heat spreaders for RAM actually(now you're embarrassed) But I take it you want RAM with cool looking heat spreaders like that? Here:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820220037
It used to be at about $72 but it is really very high quality memory and I think they want to crawl it up to $90. Still fairly cheap for 1GB of RAM. The system will be fast and look good doing it.
AMD Phenom II X6 1100T 4GHz(20 x 200) 1.5v 3000NB 2000HT, Corsair Hydro H110 w/ 4 x 140mm 1500RPM fans Push/Pull, Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5, 8GB(2 x 4GB) G.Skill RipJaws DDR3-1600 @ 1600MHz CL9 1.55v, Gigabyte GTX760 OC 4GB(1170/1700), Corsair 750HX

I've been building computers for over 10 years and have yet to have any incompatibility issues. Make sure your motherboard is compatible with the CPU you are purchasing - check the specifications on the motherboard and match them with the CPU specs. Important specs: CPU Socket type -939, expansion card type: PCI express ?for your video card. Check out this link - CPU Combo and go to the combo deals tab for recommendations from Newegg.
The HDD and cooler should be OK. I strongly recommend investing in a quality power supply- Thermaltake is a good brand and at least 1GB of memory.

Yes 1GB plus 512MB is great for playing Battlefield 2 and almost overkill for Counterstrike: Source.
And don't feel dumb. When I came to this forum in January I was electronically retarded. I knew NOTHING! But I listened and asked all kinds of questions. I think one week I started like 15 threads XD
Just ask questions if you don't understand. We might have a couple losers who will burn you for being a n00blet but this forum is made for asking questions. Everyone I have personally talked to are polite, understanding, and for the most part... knowledgable. We love to help guys like you. It keeps us busy. And it's pretty damned fun helping someone with their first build because you can impress your knowledge on them and feel you were important in their life in some small way :)

I'm not saying to ignore elokito's advice. It's good advice. But you will need a floppy drive then to install the SATA drivers for a SATA harddrive. Any ten year old legacy drive will do fine for that. But they can be found for el cheapo(<$15) on newegg if you need one.
I guess I recommend the A8N5X because of personal experience. It's a damn good board. But the A8R-MVP is also very good. A little more expensive. I personally don't see the difference between the SATA150 I'm using on the A8N5X(SATA3.0GBps at SATA150 backwards compatibility) and a true SATA 3.0GBps drive. But you might, so if you can stomach the full price of the system you'll be good.
In other words. Gor for the stuff elokito said to get :)
