Losing connection while downloading with P2P software!!

Hi,
Im having problem trying to download on P2P...When downloading music on Lime Wire or any other programs, the icon in the system tray will stop flashing: thus making the connection to freeze..And i have to disconnect my phone line from my modem and reconnect it again.Also, when downloading torrent on any programs, ive the same problem...Ive tried the TCP/IP patch and had also reformat the HD but still its the prob is there..My modem is connected through the USB and ive also trying to update the USB driver...

I remember a simular case where the problem was that P2P software makes quite a lot of connections. The particulary modem had a problem with that, a buffer ran full. Upgrading the firmware solved the matter.

ask you isp to send you a new modem, tell them that the current one conflicts with the comp, it should be free.
